Y&R: Adam is based on ME!

I submitted a story document to Y&R several years ago, back when Jack Smith had a blog, telling them to bring back Victor's son, use his middle name (which happens to be my own) and imprint upon him deep psychic wounds which craved a confusing lust for power. The character I dreamed up was suave but effete, which suggested he would be BISEXUALLY inclined, seducing men and women in the bedroom and the boardroom. My long term plan for the character was to have Sheila return, prove to be Victor's half sister and form a close, loving relationship with Adam based on their mutual ambitions to hold legitimate power in Genoa City. Sheila would prove to be a profoundly effective replacement for Hope (who was believed to be dead, but who was being held captive at Adam's Gothic farmhouse by his butch housekeeper, Myra).

I cannot believe they ran with it without even hiring me as a staff writer. They may have realised that I would definitely make Sheila forefront, allign her with Victor and turn Nikki into the 'Madame' of the Bayou. You know what? I've not seen one royalty check!

On paper, the Adam story would have been a good one. But the day-to-day execution, dialogue, and ridiculous plot twists have really written this character into a corner.

Sadly, Y&R doesn't want to show a truly gay or truly bi character mixing it up with the canvas. The show used the gay mafia to get buzz and then did not back up their hype or promises.

Do tell, do tell.

On B&B they often have characters direct quote posts that appeared on the boards months earlier.
