She never should have left GG. Sure, she couldn't have known that her other project would have been a total flop, but she should have stayed and carried her baby until it was canceled.

 She didn't leave just like that.

She wanted certain conditions met, CW didn't want to guarantee. I think she wanted at least 2 season, but they only offered 1.

Well, I don't know the entire story so I probably shouldn't judge so soon, but I would have loved if she carried the final season too. But, overall, I didn't consider season 7 to be a total flop. It would have been great if she stuck around and then the entire show would have been her vision (and she did a great job at it).

Interesting. I jumped ship on GG in the last season and even I'm still curious about "the last four words."

I know I'm alone on this but I thought Jezebel James had a lot of potential. The writing was solid and the leads - Posey and Ambrose - were wonderful. Unfortunately the execution left something to be desired. But I hand it to AS-P, she writes intelligent women-centered entertainment that exploits the best of a full ensemble cast and is both emotionally resonant and funny. That sure beats another procedural.

I, too, wish that she had managed to strike a good deal and stayed with GILMORE GIRLS. But Season 7, from what I remember, wasn't horrid, it just took some getting used to it and for the writer to acclimate. God, the idea of a movie is so appetizing I can barely believe it--one of the comments talked about the possible storyline of Rory getting pregnant. I kinda rolled my eyes in the beginning, but the poster explained the ramifications of it, Lorelai seeing Rory in an Emily way, etc, and then a fourth Gilmore Girl... God, it would have fueled years and years of drama. I'm actually rewatching the show from the beginning, and Palladino is such a master at drama--the family dynamics, the subtle nuances, the complicated, realistic relationships. And it was very well structured and nicely executed. Pure brilliance.

After all these years, I have to say: I loved Gilmore Girls. I really did. There were stuff I found annoying, gratuitous, a bit overdone, but it was splendid in its entirety. And I do find Amy to be a very good if not excellent writer, her husband Daniel too, for being able to immerse himself so well into the tone of the show and write some of the best episodes it had.

I too loved Gilmore Girls.

Perfection it wasnt, but much like Dawsons Creek something about it was so real, so touching, honest, raw, and emotional. I dont know why, but i found both very relatable even tho i have forever lived in southern california with my parents who are married and happy and never had the issues any of these people had. But still, they were all very relatable I think a lot of that may have to do with the great casting.

I also found the last 3 seasons much better than the ones before it.

Co-sign.

After finishing season 7 the first thought I had was going back and watching it again from the very beginning. I kinda fell in love with Stars Hollow and I probably will watch it again sometimes, just to get the feel of the show.

I loved Gilmore Girls too and Amy and Daniel wrote some of my favourite episodes of Roseanne and were Executive Producers of some of my favourite seasons of show, where they definitely got their start.
