As someone who was upset by this doppelganger, Haiduk did a fine job of holding her own with Braeden, Bergman, Davidson...and "Patty". I'm now reserving judgment...

Haiduk is great. She was awesome on Prison Break, even better as Mary Jane/Patty, will surely do her best to seel the doppelganger story but I can't help but feel utterly tired by the whole thing.

Exactly.

If Maria wanted to keep Haiduk she could have worked on redeeming Patti but she just wants the shock & awe of the sweeps twin switch.

From an acting standpoint, haiduk is really selling it. However, Dr. Emily Peterson bears too much of a resemblance to Mary Jane Benson (As she first appeared... not as Blonde Patty) Glasses, brown tinted contacts, and a bigger hairstyle full of soft, fluffy curls would have gone a long way to make Emily Peterson more believeable from a physical standpoint.

I actually like that they aren't relying on too much of a physical differences to sell the fact that Patty and Emily are two different women. The actress should show us with her acting why these two women are different (the way she talks, the way she carries herself) instead of just saying she's different because she wears glasses. I thought that Emily and Patty were suppose to have a huge rememblence in their apperance, that's why those dayplayers at the GCAC were pointing at Emily. Haircolor goes a long way, Colleen didn't figure out that the blonde women tied to the chair and the brunette woman in the picture JT showed her were the same. We were told what a smart girl Colleen was.

If these spoilers about Jack and Emily getting together are true, all I can say that is really messed up. It's not just because of the history between Patty/Jack, but the history between Emily/Patty. Emily knew how much Jack meant to Patty and what that obsession did to her. I know that psychiatrist aren't friends with their patients, but I thought Patty was special case to Emily. I felt like saying "what happened to bros before hos (or whatever the female equivlant of that is) Emily?". I saw what Patty's obsession with Jack did to her and the damage it caused. It angers me that Jack couldn't love Patty, but he'll fall in love with her look a like. It feels like a slap in face to me and wouldn't be suprised if Patty tries to kill Emily if she ever found out.

Emily screams like "Stacey Haiduk is a great actress, but we put her character in a corner. The fans won't accept her after the actions she pulled if we did a typical quickie poor is me redemption story and we don't want to do a long term redemption story so well do a look a like". Plus that would stop the critics from bitching about how they could have let such a good actress go, even if her character should be off canvas (kind of like Billy Miller's character Ritchie Novak on AMC). That got me to wondering, how many characters are on this show simply beacuse tptb like the actors/actresses?

Not that that's difficult to do these days...
