This may have been the original title of 'The Greatest Gift' which did go to air on that date. 1951 Mishel S. Green, prexy of the TV film company bearing his name, wings eastward next week with the first 15 episodes of his quarter - hour soap opera, The Loving Family. Green, who will arrive Tuesday (27) to screen the pic for ad agency reps and potential sponsors, has completed the first three weeks of the projected 52 -week soaper. The producer introduced himself, found the fellow was doing a dance act on the Ed Sullivan Show. He then explained he was looking for a lead for Sheriffs Wife, asked if the stranger could act and would like to read for the part. Members Paul Raven Posted July 12, 2015 Author Members Share Posted July 12, 2015 In an Afternoon Tv interview,David O'Brien talks about working on'The Nightingale' a proposed soap produced by Allen Potter,then producer of The Doctors. it was about 'an up to the minute ranch in the South West'.While waiting for it to be picked up.O'Brien took on the role of Steve Aldrich on TD.This was in 1967. Plot concerned a woman attempting to hold on to her wealth and property in Charlesto SC following the Civil War of 1865. NBC developing daytime soap based on long running British soap 'Crossroads'.Twelve years of scripts will be used as source material.Doris Quinlan will be producing.
