I don't remember being drawn to any GL men when I watched in the day, other than knowing how pretty Rick Hearst was (and somehow still is), but I will say that I remember thinking Jerry ver Dorn was hot as hell during his blackout tryst with Blake. I was not surprised that Blake was never the same person after that night.

@alwaysAMC I noticed Robin Stratter was on that AMC tornado clip I saw. She played Amanda for a short time on GL. I really think she would have been perfect for GLin the 90s. However, it seems like GL was focused on younger characters, who I found boring.

Oh now that I'm older, I find Jerry to be very handsome in the 90s. I wouldn't have thought so in my teens/early 20s haha. Funny how things like that change ;)

Oh wow, I didn't realize Robin played Amanda Spaulding.  Robin was so good on AMC as Janet. She brought a new dynamic to the character and I really enjoyed her.

I don't know if I would have either, most of the time, but he was a beautiful man - stillness, yet with fire underneath. He was something of a comfort, and when you're young and watching a soap you need that. I didn't even know much about myself at that time, but I do remember that moment.

Beyond Jerry, and Rick Hearst, I also remember finding David Bishins (Daniel St. John) cute.

I found these pictures from when Robin played Hope while poking around Pinterest:

Reminds me of the soundtrack to XANADU selling that film (when the music numbers stop in that film, the film grinds to a deadly halt).

God I LOVE XANADU..(I guess I can keep my gay card!) Where else can the lead actress be in dance numbers and she just stands there and sways and smiles while everyone else works their ass off, but she wins the audience over just by being..pretty and nice!

Ohh ok - and this is A-M's alcoholic mother right?  Looks like Robin only played her for 6-7 months. I'd love to see it!

@MLH  -Do you mean Robin Mattson? Robin Strasser was Dorian on OLTL in the 80’s

I was a bit confused myself, but Robin Mattson was the only one that made sense in my mind when I think about the AMC tornado. :)

Rick Hearst, definitely for me. Same with Frank Beaty, probably more so than Rick for me. In the beginning, I really found Frank D (Cooper) to be handsome, but that's slowly waning for me. I found the last two Harts to be handsome, but Grillo didn't age well for me at all. Otherwise, I think I would have found the current J (Ethan Erickson) to be hot when I was a teenager, watching in real time, but now not so much. Although I just Googled him and he aged well.

Oh and how can I forget Kurt McKinney!  (Or as PJ would claim, 'He Who Should Not Be Named' :P ). He really does it for me in the 90s when his hair isn't too long.

Yes!  I messed up her name and the character she played!  I would have casted her as Hope or as Amanda in the 90s.  Obviously, she went to the better done soap, IMO.

To me GL has been all over the place since Bev and Sherry left in 92.

@DeeVee  Thank you so much for the pictures!  She would have made the perfect Amanda in 1995-1998.

General question.  I am trying to find out about a movie Michael Zaslow put in a 1985 Play Bill for a play called "D.".  It mentions the screenplay he wrote with his wife called "Allison" (he mentioned that screenplay in the 1983 Soap Opera Digest interview). It also mentioned he was 'featured' a movie called Surprises that was to come out that summer. However, I can't find anything.  Does featured mean a small part or what? How does one find what happened to that movie?
