It's quite telling that there wasn't much mention of GL in this segment.

I had never seen this before, thank you for sharing. Beautiful tribute.

His wife also didn't mention CBS, only NBC and ABC.

Thank you for sharing this. What an absolutely beautiful tribute.

(And how about that brief flash of him in a scene with Lenore Kasdorf! Wish we could see those episodes. 😪)

@DeeVee You're welcome.

Yes, no mention of CBS and P&G either.

1999 Daytime Emmys didn't have an In Memoriam segment but when they did that segment honoring all previous Lead Actor/Actress winners, MZ clips got a lot of cheers.

Agree to disagree. There's a ton of GL in it. You just have to know it because they do not speak its title. It's as if you have to know the code. Fair enough, too.

Looking back, it seems so strange how the show had Bridget agree to Nadine's insane idea and not tell Maureen. I guess that's why I never really invested in Soaps after a certain point.  One thing I dislike about GL is that they build a relationship, and it ends 2 seconds after it's established.

However, they did establish from the get-go relationships well.

This morning I saw a old 1980 promo of Roger and Holly in some underground cave and it looked more like a horror movie than a soap!  I wish I knew how to post it here.

There was also no official mention of any kind at all, much less a tribute video, of Another World that was going off the air after 35 years. But, when GH won Best Show Wendy Riche's first words were, "God bless all the good people out in Brooklyn finishing up today. Our hearts are with them." And, then she segued right into thanking people for GH's win. A class act.

There are several factors at play though. I think Bridget had only been living with Mo and Ed for a year. Mo had stuck up for her with Ed when she had caused trouble, and Bridget didn't want to disappoint Mo. Then there was the fact Mo couldn't have children, which might have been awkward. I also think they intentionally mirrored Vanessa's story, with Bridget hiding and pretending to be out of town on a trip.

And, somewhat hilariously, Bridget testifies that she was in part using Nadine, and kind of felt like she could bide her time with Nadine, and leave if she came up with a better plan (which I guess really means if/when Hart returned to town.)

About GL's relationships---well, it depends on what era you're watching and who's involved.

I can't remember if this was posted here before.

Love seeing this - thank you! I didn't realize Roger and Jenna were married haha.

I thought I found the link to the promo.

Although from 1980, it still gives me a 70s feel. Are there any 1980s promos and 90s promos to major storylines?

I saw one for Roger from 1996 where he is saying he has to kill Dinah and is going crazy.  I didn't care for the ones from the 90s.

I love this promo - thanks!

It was a great tribute.  It makes me want to now find parts of his storyline as David on One Life to Live.  It also showed a clip of him on Law & Order.

Did Lenore play Rita?  That was a cool short clip.  Makes me wish I could find clips of every episode he was in!

Yes, that was Lenore as Rita.

Unfortunately, we are unlikely to ever get episodes from the mid-70s, unless by some miracle they are released on DVD by CBS/P&G. That's IF they even exist anymore. Like the old silent films, people at the time did not think soap episodes would have value after they were broadcast so many tapes were destroyed or taped over.

Or unless someone like an actor or other creator or their estate releases some they have saved. Actors often keep things they appeared in on tape. Quite a few Edge of Night videos from this era are available because some of the actors have uploaded videos from their personal collections to YT. The first few years of Ryan's Hope are available almost intact because the show's creators saved every tape and stored them. Once they left the show, they stopped saving them, so the rest of the series is very hard to find now.

Very few people had VCRs at the time, so we can't get them that way. ☹️

Yes, Lenore Kasdorf played Rita. Have you seen the Funhouse mirrors clips?

P&G didn't start saving until late 1979 and even that may be spotty. There is a good chunk of 1979 available, through old tape trading it seems, but not much before that time. I think Michael Zaslow or Maureen Garrett had the material they gave for the Roger Scandal Years tape - I wonder if any of that is still around in full. Probably not.

Lenore Kasdorf and her husband appeared on Tattletales in 1976. Also, Harley Kozak and Gregory Beecroft appeared on Tattletales (it was.a Soap Opera Episode) in 1984?
