Krista Tesreau original recipe Mindy was a spoiled brat/daddy's little princess and Roger would not have taken that version of Mindy seriously.

Kimberley Simms Mindy initially had some remnants of spoiled brat/daddy's little princess but her Mindy grew up and matured.

Roger/Mindy was more torrid than icky. Despite the initial torridness of their pairing (affair with business rival's daughter), I believe Roger did love Mindy. They wouldn't have worked as a long-term couple because the specter of Roger's feelings for Holly would be lingering in the background.

Kimberley Simms credited the Roger/Mindy storyline for her growing as an actress and Mindy growing as a character. She also said that storyline allowed the audience to see MZ as a romantic leading man and not just a villain.

I'm going to split hairs.

I understand why Kimberly Simms feels that way. She didn't play the first miscarriage, Kurt's death or the beginning of the affair with Will.

I don't think they would've wrote the Roger/Mindy affair if Krista was in the role. (maybe that's naive of me, but I don't.) I don't think the audience would've ever bought her screwing Billy's worst enemy.

As for the torrid vs icky---that's in the eye of the beholder. Roger is old enough to be her father. And I don't think that affair shows a "romantic" side of Roger. He's cheating on his wife with someone his daughter's age, all while having the hots for Holly. It was simply Roger being Roger--using a woman after having used another woman.

The only positive thing I can say was that Roger refrained from taunting Billy with the news.

  • Thanks. I suppose I'd have to check the episodes but I was surprised she was in so many. She played the maid, Mrs. Johnson, on DS (and a few other roles - usually religious maniacs who met bad ends).

I still think it's the biggest crime in Daytime Emmy history that BM was never nominated for her work on GL. She had four consecutive nominations for Another World (1977-1980) but maybe those losses s

Created by Casey S. Hutchison, the mind behind the award-winning audio soap Forever and a Day, Haven Falls centers on two powerful families whose lives have been shaped by betrayal, secrets, scandal, and divided loyalties. As old rivalries reignite and a wedding approaches, the next generation finds themselves caught in the middle. The series also features a familiar face for daytime fans. Jeff Branson, Emmy winner for his role as Shayne Lewis on Guiding Light and known to viewers from All My Children and The Young and the Restless, joins Guiding Light favorite Frank Dicopoulos, beloved for playing Frank Cooper. Kristina Sullivan also reunites with Casey following her five-season run as Stephanie Markham on Forever and a Day.

We’ll discuss creating Haven Falls, bringing serialized storytelling to the audio world, soap opera fandom, Guiding Light memories, and what audiences can expect when the drama premieres this summer.
