Jay Hammer Insisted on a three month pay or play contract and they wanted recurring. He was going to help Holly rehab in a longer story, but you can see them getting ready for the Island of Cheese so they ended it early, so smart move on Hammer's part.

Ohh ok - this makes more sense. I noticed Jay Hammer listed as contract in the ending credits when he came back, but thought that was odd if he were only there for such a short period of time. Thanks!

It's too bad Fletch didn't stick around, while I thought he was played out when he left- he was a refreshing familiar face to see when they returned. A bit of old GL before they blow up the whole thing that Summer. If Fletcher stayed, maybe they wouldn't have revisited ...

the Holly/Ross/Blake triangle in 2000.

Yuck...they did that AGAIN??? Glad the Island of Cheese turned me off of GL at that time. They really didn't need to bring back Fletch, if anything, it should have been Ed, played by MH. Ed had one foot in his demons and one foot in respectable suburbia, so he would have been able to help Holly come back...(and Fletch was too judgey all the time.) Ed and Holly as the notBob/Kim tentpoles of SF would have worked well.

Ahhh - so a handful of new characters are coming. I know of Olivia, but didn't realize she's from San Cristobel! Well, we'll see how I feel haha. )

Of all the San Cristobel people Olivia is the one who emigrates the quickest and she rarely goes back.

Who has time to jet back when they're sleeping with everything in pants?

Wow, so this is happening:

Of course, B&B has the advantage of nearly a complete catalogue, but it would be great if more soaps followed. If this is a success, it just may happen.

Oh that will be fun, you should do it! :)

I use the Vault. If you go to the Discuss the Soaps forum, there is a thread in there called Y&R/B&B/GL Vault. Go to the first page and there are instructions with a link. It's very easy. If you run into problems, let me know, but it's so convenient and love that our SON friends maintain and make it available to us.

Thanks so much. I found it and I'm watching now. )

If anyone else has any good GL years to binge, please recommend.

a lot of mid-89 to mid-'93 is up.

The closest was when McTavish has Nola discover Van is dying, and she helps her cover it up. But then Rauch sidelined her from the 'discover Van is alive" story with again one more flirting with Dinah and Matt working together and maybe more.

I wish at the end, Van and Nola had had a real conversation, and said how much they missed Henry. Surely two minutes of Reva endlessly yapping at Jeff's pic could've been cut for Lisableepin'Brown --one of GL's most memorable actresses.

I can't watch Nola's return--it's just too sad. And he-who-shall-not-be-named stinks up the joint.

Great! Happy to hear it :) 1995 is still my favorite out of the years I've watched so far... but I just know I'll prefer 89-93 once I get to it.
