Why would they kill Nikki off? She already signed a new contact, and like Alvin said, we know she's here to stay. Killing someone off just to bring in ratings for a few weeks, and then bring them back alive is going to hurt the show in the long run. Look at what it did to DOOL with the SSK storyline.

That's a given. And MTS apparently is going on that vacation so... It's all done just for shock and plot. MAB/Sheffer/Hamner would all die if they had a week of just people talking and working on character development. These are fast times, so they think we will only tune in if they shock us all the time.
