IMO, January 2008 was great. People were mostly talking about what happened (even though it was bad storytelling left over from LML) and the show's soul had returned in a second. Things looked promising and we had a full month of character-driven stuff.... but then came Sabrina and Gloria took over and it all fell into the toilet.

But the storylines were UTTERLY HORRIBLE in early 2008 too. Nothing clicked, and nothing happened to progress any meaningful circumstances for months.

Then the show will remain soulless and hallow. Hell, the ratings are nothing to brag about right now either, I think many are getting fed up.

If the show had been a little more patient I think some of their stories from that time could have paid off. I think Sabrina would have been a much better fit for this gaslighting story than Ashley, and I think they could have played up on more of the history between Adam and Sabrina and perhaps not made Adam so vile.

The big death story gave them short term gains but seems to have hurt them in the long term. Everything that was wrong with that story for me (one-dimensional writing, shock value over drama, poor pacing, darkness) has gone into most of the core of the show.

Money and picking insecure women helps Victor...I don't want to think about any other reasons...

He's such an unimportant character, I wouldn't be surprised, but I wonder if he will end up being killed by Adam eventually, especially if they don't have him go through with killing Heather.
