I think she definitely needs to act opposite of more people then Billy. I understand why Billy wants her. But Mac have been with others. She needs to tell Billy she moved on a long time ago. But if he want to see how sex is with her. She can give him that but after he needs to move on.

What about JT vs Raul. Mac alway6s had a thing for a guy with an edge.

Yeah but that beat isn't being played right now that's a part of the problem IMO. I see it like this MAB tells her stories in certain cycles it seems. Especially when it comes to love and triangles. The Phick/Shick triangles are the perfect example of that it started with Sharon's world coming apart, spun into Phyllis' world coming apart, and in the bigger picture both characters affect Nick so much because if their world's come apart then his world comes apart by default so we get his perspective last. So it is pretty clear to me that the beats being played between Mac/Billy/To some extent Chloe is focusing more on Billy's perspective before we get into Mac's

yes. I would also argue that your "great" love is also your default love. I think if you lose the person you see as the love of your life you can definitely move on and be happy. But then when you are between relationships your mind often goes back to that one (or maybe even more than one) person that had the biggest impact on you. They are always underneath the surface. That's why I can completely buy into the idea that Mac never really got over Billy.

Yes, it might have made it easier for Clem to adjust to daytime. I continue to like her and hope for the best.

Does she really have many lines at this point? It just doesn't seem like she has been in that many scenes that all this should be an issue.

Good point! One day, I actually "counted" (Catherine's shower at the diner). The Mac lines were TRIVIAL. I don't actually think she has been introduced fast or with much material.

I wonder, if she's already overwhelmed, if she could even handle front burner.

There's more to it than just lines though. there's blocking, hitting your marks, etc. From today's ep I see they're giving her very little lines, just reactions. they really are trying to write to her strengths but it's just not working.

- Billy/Jack scenes are gold.

- Oh I love how MJ operates. She's smooth but not unbelievably smooth.

- So weird seeing Jill/Jeff/Glo act out 3's company...but I love it!

- Someone please tell me what Bryton does to get all these acting noms? When will he be ineligible for best youer actor?

She could have been a supporting player in the Kay vs. Jill debacle or even been in on the Kevin/Jana/Amber/daniel stuff. Just to be 'there'. But by putting her in this torrid romance so fast just spotlights how bland she is. I can't imagine a guy choosing her over EH.

The ending for tomorrow's US episode....

This is either going to be the stupidest thing to ever happen in Y&R's history (because there were other ways to fix this problem without doing this) or one of the best.

Since I'm an eternal pessimist, I tend to go for the former. I wonder how they'll explain this, and if it flops gigantically, I'm calling for MAB', Sheffer, and Hamner's heads...

With BM, CE and now JD coming onto the canvas between the three of them they all are extremely talented IMO. Not that BRYTON isn't talented I see sparks here and there at certain moments but before the situation was he WAS the younger actor. No offense to MG and GR (not favs of mine like they are to others sorry). I actually do think Bryton was more in their league maybe with the exception of GR when he is shown

Not to get in your business, but ... when did this happen? You obviously love this genre. I realize, too, that probably no one event rendered you thus.

But when it comes to soaps, what was the straw that broke the camel's back for you? I'm sincerely interested.

    • They really did; I know the transition wasn't as beautiful as many thought it should have been, but at least with Mulcahey at the helm, I felt like there was going to be resolve at some point... even if we didn't know what it was at the time. Seeing everyone turn against Sonny, except for Ava (with her mysteriously nefarious reasons), was beautiful to see. Plus, Mulcahey swiftly fixed Alexis' law license issue that had dragged on far too long. Again, was it perfect? No. But did I get a sense that Mulcahey, if given a true chance, could have done some effective changes? Yes. Very glad to know I am not alone in this, and yes, Harper's chemistry with Sawandi Wilson's Isaiah has been lovely. But it seems like every time there is a viable match, TPTB nix it before it can truly begin.
    • Reading all the theories here and on twitter.  Someone wondered if June is connected to Leslie? So now we have June possibly connected to Hayley, to Samantha&Tyrell, or to Leslie. I love that we don't know! To be honest, I didn't think June was connected to any major character.  I thought she was simply a client who might prove to have an interesting backstory.  But then she dropped the photograph, so that has to mean something.
    • Thanks for the factoid, that's so interesting! (The character, though, was not, LOL. Ridiculous storyline). You know what? Even though he was a core family member, I think you are right. I would much rather they had kept Alan Michael on the canvas to represent the second Spaulding generation. (Of course, they would have had to write some good stories for the character, which, who knows if they would/could have). Reva, yes, I agree. Her shelf life expired when she drove that car off the bridge. The ever increasing desperation to keep her character relevant after she came back was very difficult to watch.
    • I don't suppose you have that August 4, 1995 episode @soapfan770 has with Hope throwing Nikki out of The Newman Ranch?
    • I have taken extremely long breaks from the show because of Sonny and I didn’t watch in the 90’s so I didn’t realize this was a crutch the show used all the time. Hell even though Maurice hates it, it was the most I could tolerate Sonny because he was written as the ass.hole he actually is at his core. His meds working again don’t erase all the characters I’ve either liked or accepted that I had to watch he and Jason murder and somehow come out as the good guys.
    • When I saw the pic of two kids on a stoop, I immediately though it was Samantha and Tyrell but that could be a red herring. The picture is quite old so maybe it is Hayley and June. This would help to bring Naomi back into Hayley and Bill's orbit. If June is Tyrell and Samantha's mother, that story would seem to be a dead end - unless Martin and Smitty adopted them through improper means. I did wonder if Anastasia is who Shanice has been chatting with during her shift. Her line to Ted about making her mouth even bigger? I was scandalized. Anastasia has to return soon.
    • I would DIE if Shanice’s mom lived beyond the gates and was just as messy I loved her so much. Give. Me. More. Absolutely loved this scene. Looking forward to more bonding between them. She is such a find. If her agents are smart, they’re booking her on bigger things as soon as possible. I want to see her blow up. She is THAT good to me. Ambyr and Trisha are the stars of this show for me and why I watch. Bingo. This show actually feeling like a soap that moves has made it so hard for me to watch the others anymore. I love you Thank god you said this. I wish we’d stop taking the bait but this needed to be said. White male leads cheat ALLLLLLLL the time. But this poster seems to think omg two black men that cheated decades apart are about to set us back somehow. I’m about to add them to the ignore list with Donna, I’m sick of the baiting. This was perfectly stated. Preach my friend, preach. As for yesterday’s episode I loved it. The show is handling the fall out from the Eva reveal so damn well for me. And I LOVED that Ted final scene holding Eva’s hand. I guess I’m in the minority since the recast announcement was made but I will miss Maurice and his chemistry with all of his costars as Ted and really wish he could’ve played the entire fall out of the story.
    • I would love to see it as part of a backlot shopping district where characters can bump into one another in a more natural way. Lately there has too much getting up and leaving then coming back during meals at Orphey's and Uptown. It's becoming a distraction. There could be shops, more restaurants and a coworking space. All of the "you will never be a Dupree" lines definitely are pointing to this. This is one of my favorite stories. I love stories about show business and MVJ has a background in the music industry so I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. Anita instigated the breakup - we have already seen her mean streak come out with Hannah and Eva. I expect one member (she called Sharon today) to be holding a grudge and another member (Tracy) to be somewhat bitter but more open to the idea of a tour, playing the role of peacemaker between Anita and Sharon. Maybe Sharon will pull a Mary Wilson and write tell-all about Anita.

    • I would have been more impressed if it hadn't been built on a con (Sonny's meds already being used to make sure he would be exonerated later on). The show has been doing this dance with Sonny since the mid '90s, including Mulcahey's previous stint. I almost prefer them just being honest, as Laura doesn't have a great deal of integrity to lose anyway. The problem is Sonny is just completely spent as a character. If he wasn't, we wouldn't have to see this comment from Laura again and again. He would actually be doing something on the canvas. Instead, he's written like he's already dead. If only.
