Does anyone know where I can see the episodes Bill Shanks is on?

According to the AWHP, he was on between April 10 and May 2, 1991.

I haven't found any episodes online that he is in but I was happy to come across this episode from April 18 since it looks like it has plenty of Kathleen but also the appearance of Ann Harada as Mimi. I don't see any credit for Bill Shanks as Mark Allen in the credits.

Lots of new episodes are being uploaded on youtube, guys. Type in Another World in the search engine and in the settings pick the SORT by Last Upload Date option. That way you'll see everything new.

And if you want to save them, download everything, because youtube is unreliable. One day  the episodes are there, the next - Poof, they are gone.

I can testify to that as YT poofed me twice in 10 months. It's their fault that Another World Fan Bench video Rachel & Mac Vol. 1 no longer exists! Although I have to share blame for having a backup copy of everything but it.

I backup everything now as soon as I glimpse it on youtube. It jumps straight to my downloads. I don't risk every a minute. I've seen entire decades of soaps get removed just like that.  So sad that the report function can be so abused by psychopaths who just want to ruin our fun. Or scammers that prefer people to buy than watch the episodes online.

If it helps, the AWHP has daily synopses for the period Shanks appeared in 1991 and I see the character Mark Allen mentioned on 4 specific days: April 10 & 16, May 1 & 2.

I have not found any video online with those dates but there could be undated or compiled clips.

I thought there was going to be more about Connie, but there's not.

I was looking in the book recently and there is a little tiny bit more about how Ford's work on AW tied her to NYC.

Connie, now a leading actress in a Monday-through-Friday television series, was not interested in a permanent home outside New York. Louise had hoped they would travel together to Europe, but Connie’s schedule hardly allowed for a Hamptons weekend. Wanting a less constrained life, Louise felt low and let down. [...] Louise and Connie might be on the rocks [...] Connie and she were bickering, meanwhile, and over the next few months they would break up. Connie moved out and Louise struggled to focus [...]

Thank you for finding that!

Something I've always been curious about. It seemed like Gretchen Oehler's Vivien was meant to come back and interact with Carmen Duncan's Iris and everyone else on a permanent basis but her return did not seem to last long. I wonder why that was. I think this was a missed opportunity as she and Duncan has amazing chemistry.

I honestly don't recall, so I can't speak to chem, but she & that character were such a treasure. They couldn't have ever gone wrong using her. Ask me, I say MORE please.

Harding Lemay brought her back to help reintroduce Iris.  Donna Swajeski kept her around for 2 years.  I’m not sure if it was budget or lack of interest for supporting characters like Vivien from Swajeski that lead to Vivien no longer appearing.

Did Vivien even have an exit?

I thought Gretchen worked well enough with Carmen Duncan, but she was probably more of a fit for the late '70s AW than what the show had become.

I would have considered trying to build her character up, but I'm not surprised they just let her go.

I just listened to James Tupper in a zoom type chat with Sasha Alexander at her IG acct. They are doing Chekhov's THE SEAGULL together. He talked about Anne some & he talked about Atlas some. Atlas is doing well in school & also has friends his own age. Sounds like he's thriving. They talk about Anne openly, often. They go visit her gravesite & take flowers. He said the first thing you notice about Anne is her enormous talent & the second thing is her enormous sweetness. It was good.

Unfortunately during this era, nearly all the soaps had begun gradually been getting rid of their servant characters.  Probably for budget reasons, but perhaps also because someone decided they were not interesting or not necessary.  So Vivian returned to AW in 1988 and stayed for about two-years (working for Iris). Also the Cory's had another maid (forget her name) still on the show for about the same length of time. And of course Bridget lasted a few more years on AW. After that, servants were seen on soaps more and more rarely, unless they were directly related to an important storyline -- and then they might appear, but only minimally.  As I recall, Y&R's Ester was the only servant character to truly survive the purge -- perhaps because Ester had become more of a fleshed-out character who interacted with characters beyond being a servant.  Plus, giving Ester a daughter on the show probably increased the character's chance for survival. I realize Ester is no longer a servant at this point, since Jeanne Cooper's death.

I was sorry to see all the servants disappear from American soap operas.  I thought they added depth and believability to the shows, and provided a working-class perspective to the workings of the wealthy family's households.

Categorizing Bridget as merely a servant is a bit off since she was of course Victoria's foster mother. But that is probably a disservice that the show did to the character since even after Bridget got herself hired at the Love Mansion as part of the scheme for Vicky to impersonate Marley she remained there in a servant role for several years. Did she stay with Donna after Vicky moved to her own apartment? I can't remember whether she was with Vicky and Jamie in their early married life or if she really only moved in with Vicky later.
