Should I be worried about my mental health while watching this so-called SWAN? 🤣

No, it only reaches the level of aggravation, not so bad that one would need to be committed. 🙄😲🤐😵‍💫😶🤣😉

I could just see the headlines: Soap fan goes crazy. Family intervenes. A long stay at Bayview is indicated.

And, you don't say "so-called Swan" NO. You always say, with your teeth gritted, the "Red Swan."

Do you have a t-shirt?

Yes... and written on it is - Please dear God... give us Harding Lemay's original tenure on Another World on a streaming platform. ❤️

Haha- it will be fine. Swajeski ties the Red Swan to an “umbrella” February 1990 storyline that features Broadway star Terrance Mann and the entire cast at a night at the Bay City Ballet.  That was the best part of the Red Swan storyline.

I didn't really mind the story. The worst I could say was I found it somewhat dull.

I was shocked when I realised how long the Red Swan had lasted. I think part of the problem is that for quite a long time they were vamping -- whether it was because they had not decided how to resolve it or because they thought it needed time to build up I do not know, but there were possibly too many red herrings sprinkled in.

A good MacGuffin would have tied the story together better -- but maybe MacGuffins serve finite storytelling better than open-ended serials. That said, although it was a chore to get through some of the mystery, I did not hate where it ultimately ended up (even though I know they could have got there without using the Red Swan as the device).

I was trying to see if I could find the portrait that Sam painted of Amanda over a canvas that had the Red Swan painted on it and the portrait became a kind of sub-MacGuffin as a result, but I haven't found anything online showing it. (This was from the end of August into at least October 1989.)

Now my hopes are starting to get up, up, up again. I am an infamous optimist.  ❤️

Soap Jesus, what she means is ANYWHERE. We will take it, any way we can get it! (Although I always say Pete, which I have done since I read how he didn't like Harding & it was only from his family or official docs.)

Another way of saying that would be that it is the only good part of it!!! But, I was never sure if I loved the ending or I was just filled with relief that it was finally over!!! 🙄👏👏😉🤣🤣

Didn't it begin with - trying not to spoil - that thing that happened in Maine? If so, they had no idea at first what to write & had to throw out all they had written.

You, sir, are a fan of exceptional abilities to suspend disbelief.

Given how much P&G had let ATWT rot away in this time period I wonder if they would have been as upset if JFP had not eviscerated so much of the budget.

She really spent a whole lot of $$$$.

Heartbreaking to hear this - I knew she had had cancer but didn't know her current status. I hope all the best for her.

Wait, I thought that the last thing she posted was that she was in recovery. I could be mistaken, but I hope not.

With all this talk about The Red Swan, I have to admit I would go back and watch the story all over again. I'm feeling very sentimental lately for AW. IT reminds me of my grandmother who I miss so much.

It's like that for me, too, only it's my mother. But, it's true, I miss her, each & every day. And, she got me started on soaps, on AW, on DAYS & on ATWT. She watched AW & DAYS from their first days.
