True, it's not as if Paul and Heather were heavily involved in storylines for months, so a couple of scenes of them with Patty wouldn't mean that much.

However, if they would invest they could do good with that family.

I remember when last year we had various Williams scenes cut... in spoilers we'd get that Heather/Paul discuss or something and that would not happen. We even had April back for three episodes, but then they cut her final scene and never had her actually leave town...

Poor Doris having to know her daughter has 3 way WTD problem. I guess it's better then the women on Maury who at times have to test 15 to 20 men before they know and sometimes even after testing that many they still don't find the father........

Again, you could watch that scene, and still not know for certain that she's Patty.

More to the point, though, I don't think this story is being done with newer viewers in mind at all. The Mac/Billy/Chloe triangle, maybe; "Welcome Home, Patty Jane", no.

Same here. If Kay-is-Jill's-mom, which was, okay, not well received, were undone just to make Gloria her true, long-lost daughter, then, to use poker parlance, I fold. I am sick to death of the constant Fisher-Baldwin propping and pimping.

I think Y&R is in the strange position of always having to think about newer viewers right now. Their stuff is SO steeped in history, they have to do a lot of explaining for people who don't know the back story. There was a lot of exposition in the Kay/Marge/Clint story to get people up to speed. Sometimes it was done well, sometimes it was clunky and awkward. But they have to find a way to appease both new fans and veteran fans.

Not necessarily a "connection", Jack. GC's a small town. People bump into each other all the time. Paul has not had a lot to do w/ Esther, let's say, but chances are good that he'd know her. Of course, we'll have to see if other people who knew (of) Patty Williams, but who didn't have much to do w/ her and Jack, run into her and have the same reaction as he did yesterday.

Don't be too sure of that. If Sharon was stealing things and then blanking out about it, who's to say she wasn't doing the same when she was drinkin' and sluttin' it up around town?

Of course we'd hear some lame excuse like Michael and Kevin, two of the most unlikable criminal characters in the history of daytime, finally having a caring and nice grandmother to cushion the blow of what an awful Gloria is and has always been.

Or that Gloria being Katherine's daughter finally gives her the wealthy life she deserves.

Yeah, that family is still a cancer to this show.

I think they should all be going out to a family dinner.... Michael, Kevin, Jana, Eden, Gloria, Jeff... even Baby fen can be int he car. Lauren, stuck at work, says she will meet them there. She arrives at the GCAC and is shocked they are not there. She waits a bit, tries calling, and gets worried as Paul comes rushing in looking for her to tell her the news heather told him. The SUV flipped, they all died.

Michael Baldwin should've stayed his ass without family, and he should've stayed obsessed with Christine. I'm glad he's back to being what he's always been - a supporting charter that supports others. I have no intention in seeing his family life, or his mother's or brother's.

Yes, I totally agree. I'm not as bothered by them as others (meaning I can tolerate their scenes), but if they disappeared I really wouldn't care.

Now where is MarkH to defend them?

    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.

Newsom is a craven opportunist, but his comments today were exactly how better people need to handle Trump.
