Vivica's too busy pimping the Psychic Friends Network.

Dionne must've been busy helping "cou'in Whitney" de-tox.

If we can get a black man as President, surely we can get a good black s/l on Y&R!!

Well, like I always say, "KEEP HOPE ALIVE!".

You know, Vivica is actually doing a nice job on Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry David's wife! I can't wait to see the next season....

She's not all reality shows and infomercials.

I do think -- in some role -- she could have an invigorating effect on Y&R. Personally, I can't wait till

Della Reese

arrives. I just love her! Call me foolish, but I am optimistic things are going to look up for this part of the canvas. I also feel there may be real potential in Gil...if they'd just explore it. I really see Gil and Olivia (NOT Tyra) having some interesting possibilities. He's a taciturn man of the working class; she's moved on from there, and she's a lady-doctor, fresh from "Doctors without Borders". I think there could be something sparkling there...I'd love to see a chemistry test.

Of course not. She's also bad movies and even worse Lifetime original series.

It's y&r_fan's Southern Racism, I tell you!

:lol::lol::lol:

LOL. I think it's more appalling for a Southerner to see an American-born character played by an Aussie actress doing a pissy job of holding in her "shrimp on a barbie" and "dingo ate my baby."

Nah... that was just something they threw in for Tyra and dismantled it the second they could... Just so we would see that "Neil and Tyra are meant to be." Yeah, riiight.

This coming from an Australian? Being a southerner myself, I don't think so at all!
I'm not a southerner and I don't understand this logic at all. Will southerners refuse to believe that Black people can be doctors cause they're "racist" and "ignorant"? Would TPTB care enough like it's 1968?

Please, please, please, please, PLEASE grow a sense of humor, people.

Dear God in heaven.

You realize Australians don't actually say stuff like that, right?

Oh, you don't? Well, crikey! ;)

Now that was funny, not this:

then there would be two black female doctors on the same show. Southerners would be outraged.

You realize Australians don't actually say stuff like that, right?

And we care, why?

In a way, though y&r_fan is right. Assuming every Australian goes around saying "G'day!" all the time is like assuming African-Americans' favorite pastime is to sit and "play the dozens".

Exactly.

Yes, it's only funny when I'm the one being mocked.

Not really besides you instigated that all on your own. I'm used to people making fun of southerners and what not!
