He does look a little too skinny. I don't think they're writing Damian as the evil, but I may still have my anti-Damian blockers on. Whenever they're not being blatant in the Damian hate, I just assume he's in the right, like his original run. We were supposed to root for Lily and Holden and see Damian as the oily interloper, but I hated, hated, hated, hated Holden (I've always hated him but I HATED memory loss, dump-my-child-off-on-Emma-after-I-steal-him-from-Iva Holden), so I always rooted for Damian.

I watched some of today's show once I heard about Noah and the gun, because that's kind of the direction I'd have liked to see Noah go in, embracing the military, somewhat conservative background he'd resented and respected thanks to his father. Luke would probably be simultaneously disgusted and excited. Then if they want to write Noah out, he can just go join the Jack Harkness cult over at Torchwood. Ianto can occasionally pop into Oakdale and stun gun Dusty and Jack and Dusty and Meg and Dusty and Paul and Dusty and Craig and Dusty.

Have you heard the rumors Kriezman will be at ATWT once GL is over? God help them. With all those Snyders around at least he can find his new Jammy.

Oh, please....I'm sure a debate on who's hair is worse, MTS' or ED's on a particular day would get more talk than ATWT. We're lucky to have a thread.

I think PS is uber-skinny. Maybe he's just naturally lanky, but he looks as small as some of the actresses.

I mis-spoke. Casey should be Kris, the clutzy kid-sister no one can hate. I guess that leaves Ali as the dim-witted, shaking her cans Kelly. If only she still had Aaron's motorcycle, so she could dramatically take off the helmet and toss her hair back.

I heard the DK rumor---I think it's totally baseless. We've probably got half the writing staff of GL.

I like Hunter. I'm impressed that since his first episode, the actor seemed natural and had a grasp of the character. There hasn't been of that awkwardness that a newbie sometimes has - you know - like Silbermann had 2 years ago and still hasn't gotten over. lol.

This guy's a natural.

I guess I like Hunter....but this clutz thing gets old fast. *eyeroll* I can see the story now, all it'll take for poor Hunter to stop being a clutzy nerd is a little hot, sweaty sex with Emily. Her woo-woo is going to need another 50,000 check up pretty soon.

is there a more SEXLESS character around than allison? i swear, the girl is frigid -- and i have no idea why hot casey wants her.

of course, NUKE is pretty sexless, too. nauseating, in fact. there's no heat at all between them -- just sickening, sickeningly sweet looks and sappy lines from hell.

JS has always been a terrible actor, but i rue the day i thought van hansis could act. he's worse every week.

The actor playing Hunter could have been Noah. He is a vast improvement from Jake Silbermann. I can't believe how much the actor playing Hunter resembles

If he was Noah then I'm not sure if he'd get the same reaction, as there are a lot of people who would have disliked Noah and the idea of Nuke no matter who was playing the part, especially since Noah has never been that well written of a character.

ATWT is very hit and miss with new faces. I liked BM's Casey from the start but I don't think they've ever given him good material, aside from the brief fling with Emily.

There's nothing wrong with nuLucy---but TAIC have done her no favors refusing to really reconnect her to anyone in Oakdale besides Craig and Dusty. And Johnny......*eyeroll*....I hate to sound nasty, but that kid has no personality whatsoever. He reminds me of the Daniel Hughes who was nothing but a lump on someone's shoulder.

It's kind of sad watching Maura work so damn hard to try and imbue the Craig/Lucy scenes with some emotion. Between PickledHerringLindstrom and nice but bland Lucy, it's hard to conjure up any warmth at all.

Note to hairstyling---chop Dusty's hair!!! Good God....that oil slick could endanger Oyster Bay. Thank God Dusty's never got dumped into the water while he was at the "docks".

Meg and Paul---stick a fork in it already. Get it OFF my screen.

Hmmn....nothing to say today, people???

I understand.

I remember various posters going on and on about how being married to Jack would neuter Carly as a character. He never wanted her to work, she'll be a typical Snyder--barefoot and pregnant.... blahblahblah blah. So...what is Carly stuck doing with Craig??? Cooking pot roast. *eyeroll*

I seriously wish someone would shut Katie and Brad TFU. BOO-friggin'-HOO...Katie doesn't know how she can live her life never having a child. I swear to God, I'd love to slap her into next year. Not two "days" ago, she acted as if Henry's child was toxic waste. IT. CHAPS. MY. HIDE.

Your two posts have me speechless. After reading yesterday's post I didn't have the heart to watch the show. I haven't even seen it today. I am two days behind. I am so much enjoying Y&R instead of the crapfest that is ATWT. Goutman should watch Y&R and learn a thing or two about good soap drama.

    • The funeral was not onscreen - only the Brooks returning home after the service. Not aware of any available clips.
    • Very very well said!!!

I would only add that Sam Ratcliff is frequently named in regards to certain AW comedic turns.  And, we know from Carolyn Culliton (tweet 2024) that Sam & Gary put their heads together & came up with that gorilla.
    • I knew you would be so excited seeing your girl Brookey as #1!!!! She also WINS as to Frequently Married!!!
    • Yes, Stacy does this both for early DAYS & early GH. I have written some for her, for DAYS. But just one tiny point & that is that she only deals with DVDs. I realize that is not the point of your posting but it seemed the right thing to clarify. I know that you know that video tapes is past, not present.
    • Hahahha I think sleeping with almost all of your daughters's boyfriends and husbands and getting pregnant... definitely gives Brooke the right to top 1 place. Long live the whore of Beverly hills.

    • CurlyQGrl has DVDs of some episodes, that they can sell, but that doesn't matter. What is helpful: they describe the scenes on the tapes, so you can read that as recaps without ordering anything. Doesn't really give storylines, though, which is what you asked for.  Here's the links anyhow. full menu https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/menu.html GH page https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/menu.html GH 1960s https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1960s.htm
    • I would argue that Another World never played "everything" for laughs. Even when there were comedic scenes in some storylines there were other storylines that were not intended as comedy.  You give 1988 as the end point, and Mary was on the canvas from August 1986 to February 1989, so she must have overlapped with the despised laughs you are referring to at least half of the time she was there. I honestly can't recall any real comedy that Mary would have been part of. I don't think she was lighthearted about choosing between two husbands, MJ's prostitution, Kathleen's death, or even her son Scott dating her daughter Cheryl.  I would have said that the amount of comedy depended on the head writer and there was more comedy under Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin in 1984 than subsequent headwriters. I guess there was an outbreak of more comedy when Cecile kidnapped Cass from his wedding in 1986, but in general the Sin Stalker wasn't presented as funny, Mitch's return wasn't funny, John's arrival wasn't funny, Reginald wasn't funny. The tone was serious even if the plots verged on the ludicrous. And maybe that's what you mean -- but I would make a distinction between intentional comedy and storylines I can't take seriously for other reasons.
    • I'm excited for us to get back to a full weeks worth of episodes and also us beginning to move into the episodes filmed once the show premiered. We're already starting to see changes in the lighting and the way certain characters are styled. Of course we know this week we have our first recast as well. After the big Eva reveal, I hope the show continues to move into a positive direction and that we see them starting to fix some of the things we've all had issues with.
