Hehe, I kind of feel fortunate after reading that article... His house doesn't sound all that different than our own. We've got the same 4-bedrooms, 3-baths configuration, a courtyard with loggia & outdoor fireplace, similar "green" features (tankless water heater, energy-efficient HVAC system)... We've got less square-footage - about a thousand less. But then again, we don't have those "attached apartments," either... and we've got a great piece of property with an all-around view.

However, in the Greater Los Angeles area, it's all about location, location, location... I live in the foothills of an LA suburb. No way our home, even when the market was at its best, would cross into the TWO-MILLION territory. I mean, 2.6 million? Everyone knows beach area homes are high priced, but even I never knew the properties in Venice ran that high. I suppose he might be pricing ambitiously, though... especially if he PURCHASED it when the market prices were inflated. We bought our home about nine years ago - when prices were WAY down. Maybe he's upside down in the place? A lot of people are in this region.

Rademacher is only 37? Now I feel younger, too! Maybe it's too much beach sun... (Sorry, there's no "catty" emoticon!)
