On what other soap would the big star- Sonny- live in a brown dump? His set reminds me of the tackiest and dumpiest set in all of daytime- OLTL's Dumptruck Square Hotel. Where the rooms are cheap and the rooms are all BROWN. Hawt.

Llanfair and Asa's were both Linda Gottlieb's sets that still stand today. Both have been painted or rewallpapered thats it. Asa's house has that awesome golden archway above the lving room that they never show. Viki's kitchen now was also redone in the Gottlieb era. My favorite set.

I bet we are in for a surprise when GH hits HD- the lighting will make a huge difference.

Honestly, under a different daytime President, GH with JFP would be beautiful! I don't believe for one bit that she has any control. She probably just read's actor's contracts all day long for Frons to see who they can dismiss. If you look at her work on past show's she is one of the best producer's in the industry. Now, don't get me wrong, she is still a first class b*itch, but she is brilliant when it comes to the overall look and feel of a show.

I really believe that it's Guza who dictates the look of the show to Frons. Because this is certain, his writing could never correspond with JFP's gorgeous production values. NEVER!

If I had to make a list of executive producers who can make a soap look fabulous, it would be in this order:

Paul Rauch

William J. Bell

John Conboy (Pre-retirement)

Ed Scott

Jill Farren Phelps

Linda Gottlieb

Out of those 6, there are only 2 still working in daytime right now. Rauch makes Y&R look stunning as it's always been. One Life to Live still has the marks Linda Gottlieb and JFP left pre Valantini.

GH should be grand. The Q Mansion might have even looked the way it did before Monty's earthquake.

The hospital would be livelier, and would have never burned down.

The Port Charles Hotel would still be here and it would be beautiful.

Even Wyndemere would be beautiful.

JFP is known for taking what she has when she arrives at a show and enhancing it. There is no two ways about it. That's the facts plan and simple when it comes to JFP. Frons and Guza have her in check.

I don't believe that JFP has no power at GH. She must do something. The actors report talking to her about story direction, etc. so her input must count. During the writers' strike GH sucked even harder so I'm glad whatever power that she does have is contained.

I don't think he is designing them per sa, I think Guza has more of an input and Frons gives the final say.

Of all of the work I've seen JFP put into set designing, from her tastes, none of that is seen on GH. I think Guza determines how he wants things to look and that is what's created.

I think JFP is only consulted on actor's contracts, castings with Guza and Frons and when she is asked, her input is given. Other than that, that's it.

Really? It just screams late 90's to me. Everything is just generically bland.

If you're going to revampa set, go all the way and make it differ in style and look from everything else you've got going on. GH, for all the money it gets, looks cheap.
