GL has rocked this week, #'s should go up. I am now use to the "real" sets that GL uses that when I see other soaps I think how fake they look. Took a long time to get use to it, now I would NOT change it back! Love it! Lovin me some Dinah!

I think last week was great, but I just hope their ratings don't go down. I won't be surprised if they go to a 1.6, since the show still seems to bother some people, the production element, or they may not like some of the stories, and most of the soaps are in a stagnant or downward ratings trend. I'm hoping they will stay at 1.7 at least.

Hopefully GL will show a gain. If GL would reduce the number of different locations, I think it would help. It is disorienting when every single scene is somewhere new, or if the inside shots are in tiny rooms. BTW - anybody know when they will change there intro? Is there a petition out there somewhere?? It is absolutely awful!

For those of you looking for the local ratings market breakdowns, they are really late. I usually have them on Wednesdays but my guy just got them yesterday himself from his source and he usually gets them on Mondays. As soon as I get them I'll definitely post them since a number of people messaged me about the interest of their own markets but they will be late and might not be posted today but hopefully tomorrow if I get them by tonight.

I'm hoping everything goes up since this is the first full week of March sweeps. OLTL had a phenomenal week and that show continues to get better and better. GL is also really good but overall every soap is cookin' right now as I'm not finding myself bored with any of them but as usually its b/c of sweeps.

I really wonder if OLTL will benefit from an action packed week (like they did for 4-5 weeks in November/December)

I don't see a 2.1 happening. I would not be surprised if they end up with a 1.9. I think the trend is going to continue of AMC having a small lead over OLTL. My guess is 2.0 for AMC, 1.9 for OLTL, and 2.1 for GH. ( I could also see a 2.1, 2.0,2.2)

The strongest soap right now is One Life to Live. Its been a few months since I was this glued to a ABC soap watching it live not on DVR. Ron C. no doubt is the best writer in the game but the killer for him is the ratings aren't reflecting how well the show is doing quality wise.

Guiding Light comes a close second but Y&R is up there too with it but nothing beats One Life to Live right now.

I think they should have dropped the Shane leukemia story, with all that bad acting on display, and only focused on Matthew and the crash and Blair's stabbing.

Has Vanessa ever been in the intro before? Does this mean she may be contract again? Or has she always been on contract?

A 1.8 for AMC?????? lol

Nah it had the most viewers last week (And I don't watch AMC) That show is on some kind of roll with Nielsen families at least. Everything I read here says the show is a mixed bag- you would never know it from its ratings

The really exciting thing is to see if AMC beats GH again!!??? That I cannot wait to see.

Its funny. I don't think anyone but hardcore fans on message boards give a damn about quality acting. I don't think the acting will effect ratings as much as the stories. But I agree some of OLTL bad actors give the thespians at B&B a run for their money. And as far as Farah goes- I like her (especially in scenes with Viki for some reason) but the chick cannot do genuine emotion.

    • Copying and pasting pasting this here as to not to derail the KL thread lol Wow I forgot CBS actually did try multiple attempts to come up with a soapy replacement for Knots on Thursday nights in the 10/9 slots for the 93-94 season.   Angel Falls had promise but CBS didn’t give it a fair chance. Latham’s Second Chances got even worse ratings than Angel Falls and wasn’t given a second chance when the Northridge quake destroyed the show’s sets. One West Waikiki looked gorgeous but was a blink you missed it affair. Finally we got Hotel Malibu, a quasi follow-up to Second Chances that stayed as the summer replacement series it was. CBS switched gears and had Chicago Hope air in the slot…against ER. It made the Top 30 but obviously underperformed below expectations. CBS gave up, and gave us 48 Hours for years there. It wasn’t until the 2002-03 season when CBS finally produced a Top 20 show for that spot with Without A Trace against an aging ER.
    • Of course I join in on wishing that Peacock & Corday & Sony would all together come to the conclusion that NOW would be a fine time to put some of these gems in the archive on full display!!! But, at the same time I'd like to give kudos to the fact that behind the scenes they've been doing the great work of preservation by taking tapes, etc. & converting them to modern digital formats. Besides the important fact of preserving them it means they are ready to go!

    • Bill and Hayley’s living room set should be redressed as their bedroom. We’ve not seen their gorgeous circular entry way set since the first week? Why not utilise that more and build them a living room off those double doors? The hotel room also doesn’t have a bed? Does only Dani have a bedroom?
