What has the number of views on a topic have to do with it?

I never get the logic that fan bases use in that sense. I have seen it on many boards where they will post that their thread has the most replies or the most views. How does it prove anything. Half the time some of the same people go into those threads fifty times a day.

It is the same as where fan bases vote in polls. On one board I was an administrator of at one time we were doing polls and one member of a fan base joined the site 50 different times with 50 different Yahoo and HOtmail addresses. the thing that gave her away was that her IP address was the same on all accounts. She voted for the same person in a poll 50 times and then would post about how popular that person was. In the end it proved nothing.

She would also make posts and then agree with herself.

April as others said welcome to the board but since you pointed out the number of views the thread has. I would point to you to read all the posts in here. the ones who feel that Zach Slater are important to AMC in this thread are few and far between. They are definitely the minority.

I just saw your post and I wanted you to go back to the first page and look at all the posts and see the number of people who have read this post. The most of any of the others. The reason because Zach Slater is very very very popular and he is the HEART of the show any way you cut it. The facts are the facts.

April, first of all welcome to the board.

Now, let's get the real facts straight. The number of views of a thread are not by any means an accurate assessment of a character's popularity. One has nothing to do with the other.

I won't argue that Thorsten has his fans. But I've been watching All My Children for over 25 years and the character of Zach Slater is far from the heart of this show. Just because he talks to Myrtle's picture once in a while and shows a sensitive side doesn't mean he's the heart of the show.

I have to agree with other posters here and say that Zach Slater has been cancerous to All My Children.

Zach Slater is mesmerizing on the show. His character is very interesting and could you please tell me besides the obvious.. Adam who is not getting any interesting stories lately, who is carrying the show. David is back, I love Tad but he has not had any captivating stories as of late so who besides Zach Slater could carry AMC if he was not on it. I am sure you have to admit that the chemistry that he had with Kendall was beyond fabulous and they play well off of each other. There are no other couples on AMC that can come close. So who is the heart of the show if not Zach Slater. Please tell me as I watch this show every single day without fail and I cannot come up with anyone else.

Erica Kane always has been, and always will be, the heart of AMC. Front-burner or back-burner, nobody else even comes close.

Just because somebody is on five episodes a week doesn't make them the "heart" of anything.

Erica Kane is the heart of AMC. Erica Kane has been carrying the show on her shoulders for nearly 40 years. Erica Kane is the star.

Zach Slater is a pox that Brian Frons foisted on AMC because he gave Thorsten Kaye a holding deal and needed to place him somewhere. Case closed.

Went over to the official site. I see that the exact word re-signed wasn't used, but it's probably a correct assumption that he chose not to use the opt-out of his existing contract since he's giving word he's staying, thus I'd guess at least a year more is what "staying a while longer" means.

I knew it would probably end up this way but I still hoped for an end to Zonny of the Valley.
