Members DaytimeFan
Raised in London... His accent is very odd. It's not German (Eric Braeden has more of a German accent), it's not English (that's James Scott's niche), nor is it Scottish (that's Ian Buchanan's territory)...it's always sounded Irish to me and his old characters on OLTL and PC were named Patrick and Ian, both Celtic/Scottish names...I don't know, nor do I really care. He's an albatross to AMC. He should go back to OLTL.
Members skyejames
Being a Brit ( Scottish ) and having lived in Northern Ireland , I would say he definitely has an Irish lilt to his voice . I just assumed he had either Northern Irish or Southern Irish ( not part of UK) roots . All the vowels imho are Irish of some sort ; " ma woif " in particular . Members Ann_SS
You nailed it. I have always thought that Zach was out of place on AMC, but couldn't put my finger on it. He is rude and thuggish. Adam and Palmer were always snarky, but they had a classiness and style that made it work. Only the bad guys were obnoxious. Now Zach is supposed be a good guy, but he is obnoxious and like a bull in a china shop.
Members tina m
Never been a huge fan of Zach but this will be a huge loss for AMC.
Members Southofnowhere
Don't think it would hurt the show ratings wise (AMC has a very very very loyal 1.9 HH ,1.1 or 1.2 18-49 that will watch no matter how bad it is) as for Kendall they'll hook her up with Ryass. Other than having him run off with Reese don't know how they write him off. As big as a jerk that he is don't see him leaving his kids behind. Members CassieFan
No, it wouldn't be...AMC survived 34 years without Zach Slater...
Members April
Boy have you got that wrong. Do you have any idea how popular TK is?? That would be a huge huge loss for AMC. Kendall and Zach have a very big fan base and they would really be upset. He is a fabulous actor and adds big time to the show. You are definitely in a minority on this one. Members FrenchFan
TK is not a bad actor but he is over exposed. Zach has no family ties, he is not a character that should be featured that much. I only found him tolerable in scenes with late Eileen Herlie. Members monabone21
This particular actor/character has NEVER felt like a "fit" for Pine Valley; he'd be infinitely more interesting paired with Erica than Kendall, but that's beside the point. His emotional range runs the gamut (as Dorothy Parker famously stated) from "A" to "B"... it is the ABC-TV network's reliance on Mr Kaye and Mr Mathison that has RUINED "All My Children", placing it perilously close to death's door. If anyone at ABC had any brains at all (and we know they don't) they'd close their checkbooks and bid Mr Kaye a very firm and final adieu!
Members RomeAt50
I don't see him leaving the kids either. I think they would have to kill Zach off but in an open ended way. I think if TK leaves it could have the potential to negatively impact the ratings but it might not. Ratings can be very difficult to predict. Members DaytimeFan
What a perfect quote from Dorothy Parker. Nail. Head. You hit it.
Members Southofnowhere
IMO sending him to prison would be the easiest way to write him off and maybe bring him back in the future. Ryan could set him up for some white collar stuff or Zach could beat the ever loving crap out of Ryan sending him to the joint for assaut , attempted murder. He's hurt enough woman that he could go to prison for that. Whatever happened to sending folks to jail as away of writing them off? Zach is a hot head who has committed 100's of crimes since coming to town. Sending him to jail would work in my book. Not for life or any thing. Say 5 years. If AMC is on the air in 5 years and TK doesn't need a job then deal with it then.
Members CSF
I agree 100% There has been enough death in Pine Valley to last a lifetime! Just send him off to Statesville or whatever they call it (maybe that's on OLTL). Regardless, Zack needs to be off my screen and out of PV like yesterday! And at least 10 to 15 without parole would be nice. ;-)
