Members jcar03
This is one of the best Oscar's I have seen in years. It's kind of amazing with budget cuts all over the place and the fact that viewership is down every year they were able to put together a great telecast. And last years winner, Daniel Day Lewis, is not on hand to present. This one isn't as shocking because he tends to shun the spotlight. Javier Bardem is dating Penelope Cruz so I would of thought he would of been there.

Members bandbfan
Well, they managed to turn an extremely predictable show as far as awards, into an amazing show.

Administrator Toups Posted February 23, 2009 Author Administrator Share Posted February 23, 2009 I really liked how the acting catergories were presented. I hope they do it again next year.
Members Jonathan
I sort of liked the way they did it. It would get kinda corny though: "Good job Brad Pitt. Thumbs up." Wanna bet we'll see this presentation style at the Emmys?
Members Rakesh
Yay for SDM, Danny Boyle, Kate Winslet, Sean Penn, and the late Heath Ledger. Like they can afford to do that.
Members Jonathan
It doesn't cost a lot. Just invite 5 actors who've won previously and give a mini speech about each of the nominees.
Members juniorz1
I'm absolutely thrilled and surprised that Sean Penn won. He was excellent in Milk. Much deserved. Also I'm glad that Milk won for original screenplay. The movie and story was absolutely amazing. And YAYYY! Slumdog! I absolutely LOVED that film! Members jcar03
Expect the Emmy's are at most 2 hours long and there are more acting categories to go over as well.
Members Southofnowhere
Mickey Rourke ruinied his chances by getting involved with the WWE! I'm glad he did because Sean Penn RULES! Mickey Rourke will cash in and make millions doing action flicks so no reason to feel sorry for him!
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Yay, finally Kate won. Pretty predictable overall, with the only surprise to me coming in the Foreign Film category. I thought Israel's Waltz with Bashir had it, but it went to Japan's Departures. Good to see Slumdog Millionaire win Best Picture and cement its award season sweep. And I did not like the way the acting categories were presented. I don't like to waste time. Just get to the winner and get it the hell over with.
