For one, Rex said he brought the jacket at the flea market, so it wasnt that expensive. He also said those were some cheesy crabcakes out of a box, so again, not that expensive, and the steak was already in the in the fridge and I doubt that a steak cost more than that damn z-box.

As a proud Natalie fan I found today's scenes to be very cathartic! I never had a problem with Jessica, whether ET was playing her or BW. But Natalie was "right on" in what she said to Viki. But Papa Clint needed to hear her rant too. Hopefully we'll get one scene where Natty tears Clint a new one

I thought today's show was very well rounded.

My favorite scenes from today's show were with Viki and Natalie. I was leery at first because it just pains me when others go off on my favorite charcter ;) but they turned out quite wonderfully. I loved that Viki let Natalie unleash her hurt and anger out on her, such a mother, and I loved that Viki made sure she know how much she loved her. They were just phenomenal scenes, now give me one where Natalie is laying into Clint as well.

Ummmm....I do believe that there is finally someone that I can watch Todd with, Tea.

Liking Jessica and Brody the more they are on together.

John and Blair don't make me ill anymore.

Didn't even mind Gigi and Rex although I'm still sick of seeing so much of them.

I loved the Viki/Natalie scenes. I was totally expecting to go back to hating Natalie with white passion the way I did during the heart transplant story, but the scenes were so well written and acted that I understood where she came from. I also loved that eventually, she got the anger out and was able to verbalize what she was feeling. I loved how Viki was with her, and how she let her rant and rave. I also loved the marshmallow scene with Viki and Charlie.

Go Natalie! I loved her calling Viki out on how they always baby Jessica and always make excuses for her all while coming down on Natalie. I also loved how Viki handled her. Both had excellent points. I really liked Nat breaking down and crying and Viki comforting her and reassuring her that she does in fact love her just as much as her other children

Really liked the Todd and Tea stuff. Those two work well together. Im hoping they stay just friends at this point but I saw some sparks here

Rex and Gigi need a story. All they do is have sex. Speaking of which, both of them are freeloaders. Its way past time for Gigi to move out of Viki's place and get her own home

Yes...they made sure to mention today that the things Rex bought for his evening of romance with Gigi were not that expensive. The smoking jacket at the flea market, the crab cakes at the grocery store, etc... They have also mentioned that the money Ultra Violet took in from Puddle of Mudd's concert helped his finances, and helped him book the Plain White T's.

Me Too Cheap. All of it. I half expected Viki to apologize and try to convince Natalie that what she felt wasn't valid. But Viki didn't do that at all. She acknowledged that Natalie is treated differently, but I thought she was very convincing when she told Natalie she didn't love her less, and I think Natalie believes it. But I don't think that's going to be enough for Natalie. We may not see her address how her parents favor Jessica again, but she's not going to forgive and forget so easily this time. I do wish Natalie would have brought up that Viki didn't forgive Tina or Todd for their roles in the whole thing and their intentions were significantly less malevolent than Jessica's.

I really liked the Todd and Tea stuff too. They do have an easy cameraderie (sp?). I really liked Todd today for the first time.

I also agree about Rex and Gigi. They do need a story, but I think they're setting something up. I want to like this couple again. FF isn't the greatest actress, but she has a charm that I really enjoy, and Rex at one time, was one of my favorite characters. I miss that.

Why isn't Carlivati explaining Janet's / Lee's disappearance for all of these years ??? Last week when she showed up @ The Buchanan Mansion - Renee's reaction was "Lee - I thought you were dead ???" and then nothing. Also - Renee said "Why should I hide you ???" and Janet said, "I have a good reason" and again nothing - cut to commercial and no explanation. Very jarring !!!

As a long time OLTL viewer who remembers Lee's storyline very well it's extremely frustrating and imo - very poor writing - something I wouldn't expect from Ron - especially if he went through the trouble of making "Janet" a character from the past "Lee".

Explain where she has been, why she's not dead, and about her daughter Marilynn who thought she murdered her mother !!!

Maybe Ron is saving the story for Janet / Lee to tell Renee & Nora now that she's revealed herself to Nora too...

I can only hope...Otherwise making Janet --- Lee, was a complete waste of time !!!

Also a scene or two with Janet / Lee and Viki and/or Dorian would be interesting as well - since the character was involved with both back then.

I think he only had her as her old character as a wink to history, not as a story to explore. That isn't the only time he was better at mentioning history than utilizing it (everything with Tina's return).

On AMC years ago, they hired the same actress who had once played a hooker (Lettie Jean) to play a TV station owner who wanted to hire Liza Colby. No mention was made of her past until Adam Chandler showed up at the station, dredged up her prostitute past, and forced her to not hire Liza.

    • IKR! Tanya Turner, at one point, was EVERYTHING.
    • I can see both sides here. I don't believe that everything in that period was intended as comedy, but I think John Considine played the part in a very mustache-twirling way, as did Marcus Smythe as Peter until near the end, and that did come across as the material not being taken seriously. And I think the same is true of some of the treatment of other stories. The Sin Stalker, for instance, has that incredibly batshit material with Crystal Gayle being attacked. It's pure WTF, and something that, if done in more recent decades, would probably end up having the part played by a Drag Race or Real Housewife.  The main takeaway I have from that period is how little those running the show cared. There's just a callousness. And that leads to a real cynicism onscreen.
    • I think too many of Mary's storylines were absolutely depressing. A lot of that  though was mitigated by her relationship with Scott, Cheryl, Ada and other characters though. I'm one of the few who preferred Mary with Reginald and wish that they had made Reginald less of a villain and made the Reginald/Mary/Vince triangle more of a battle and less a foregone conclusion. Mary choosing Reginald had much more storyline possibilities. What if what if what if...
    • Thank you for the info about SFT related to EON. I thought about adding SFT to my watch list, but I don't know if it's the kind of soap for me. I know very little about it except for a few of the actors and that it was on two different networks. I also know based on this board or somewhere else that the two Lizas both died young from cancer. Warms my heart to see so many EON people on SFT because they are such good performers and I wish they had been moved to other shows. Perhaps, they were and I'm just not aware of it.
    • There was a few times when Silk Press Sheila came into her apartment after going grocery shopping.. she could have been unloading her items as she talked to Eva or Ted and saw a few of the products on the counter that are P & G products.
    • I enjoyed today's show. I liked seeing Mona again and her confronting both Eva and Leslie. I did feel for Eva, especially at the end of their confrontation, when Mona said "Good", when Eva mentioning losing everybody she cared about. Though, I can understand Mona's anger and Leslie deserved every bit of her ire. Both Leslie/Eva betrayed her especially Leslie. Mona put her both her professional and personal relationships with the Duprees on the line and what Leslie/Eva did put her in an awkward position. Speaking of Leslie she continues to act trifling and caring only about herself and her needs. At this point, it only seems like she cares about herself and wanting Ted for herself. I'm not even sure how if her feelings for Mona were ever sincere, though she called out about people turning against her after Mona left. I have yet to see Leslie really display that she sincerely cares about anyone, and I do think that needs to change at some point. I enjoyed Nicole and her scenes today with Leslie/her children. I also like that Martin took a more sensible approach regarding how the family should handle Eva. He did straight up acknowledge she was his sister, and it seemed like he was opened to up to accepting her. I think he will be among the first in the family to soften towards/accept her. And in spite of the way she was introduced into their lives, he will end up being happy to have two little sisters. I wonder again about Kat/Eva being twins/Eva being Nicole, when Martin/Kat brought up them being the same age and Kat even used the word "twins" in disbelief, when Martin suggested they shared a connection from the beginning.
    • LOL! They did show a Pantene and Dawn commercial today. Image them incorporating those into the show.
    • He joined Julian in Bermuda when he getting a divorce from Ivy. And, was the one who tricked Theresa and Julian in to believing that they had gotten married there. That would be nice.  That was such a good book, and it was too bad that the show retconned it so much. I still have my copy somewhere.
    • Instead of Febreze, Eva pulled a few tissues of Puffs and cried into them. Hayley comes in with a pack of Always and is like "Well, Bill turns out I'm not pregnant." Andre and Derek sharing a bottle of Pepto after eating Ashley's cooking. Vernon and Anita drinking up their Metamucil.
    •   I liked the actress who played Tina. She was not the typical soap hire. I hadn't thought of her in many years until I saw a Spauldingfield video of her. It makes sense if they were planning to make her Frank's daughter as she was tied to the Coopers and nothing else was done with her beyond singing and the relationship with Marcus that Rauch never cared about. David was hurt by Monti Sharp leaving the role. I don't blame Monti for leaving, as he was getting less and less to do, but Russell Curry was a very generic actor was too old for the part. Yes, black don't crack, but he was nearly 40. When David returns at the end of the decade they cast an actor who was a little too young, which just shows how little interest the show had in the character or black characters in general (and random recasting would return with the Boudreauxs). Marcus is a character who got a lot of buzz early on and then the show lost interest (again).  Anyway, if you stay watching, be warned that the Hart/Dinah/Roger stuff gets worse and worse. Luckily you don't have the same lengthy ties to the show so it may be OK for you. It made me feel a bit sick at the time. Thanks for giving more info. And to @DeeVee and @P.J. as well. I suppose there were tiers of people who were seen as disposable, and Eve was shielded for a time due to that tier. Once they were clearly getting rid of characters like Justin or Amanda, then she was also on that list (I know she left before they did but it wasn't that long before). Characters like Eve, quiet, able to be used in many avenues, are important for community, or they should be, although she had clearly reached a natural end. The problem is no one really replaced her - all the characters who were likely seen as dull were shipped out from 83-85, and we were left with an unbalanced canvas (and characters who were meant to be exciting but were still dull, like Calla, Simon, et al).
