JR was best paired with Baker's Babe. I HATED him and Babe when Alexa was in the role but the pairing with Baker really made me like the couple and got me to like JR. As for him and Amanda? HOT! They are quickly turning into my new favorite couple

I felt the opposite way about Babe and JR. I thought he and Alexa's Babe had much more chemistry together while he and Baker were kinda boring together. But I do agree he and Amanda are hot together. I hope TPTB go for a real pairing with those two this time.

I agree. Baker made Babe a touch more mature than Alexa's BritneyLite Babe, and Jacob's JR had become mature as well. I bought JR and Baker's Babe more than I ever bought JR and Havins' Babe. Havins' Babe just seemed like a dumb little slut. Strike that. A dumb, smug slut. "Yes, I slept with man after man just because I could... but I'm still gonna judge you anyway, and get away with it because I'm... well... a cute whore!"

Baker actually made Babe an adult (the way Baker pleaded for everyone to save Little Adam over Babe during the tornado sold me). She, as I said, gave Babe a maturity that Havins never did and I saw JR rise to the challenge. He grew up while he was with Baker's Babe. He acted like a little p*ssy whipped fool when he was with Havins' Babe. While, as a whole, I never liked the Babe character, I tolerated her more under Baker than I ever did with Havins. But I believe Baker did what she set out to do -- not imitate Havins, but make Babe her own. I think that was very smart of her. But still, I'm glad Babe's dead. So there is no chance of Alexa Havins coming back on my screen -- ever. Don't give me that "nobody's ever really dead in soaps" crap. This time, that character is dead as hell! I swear! She has to be! DEAD DEAD DEAD!

That's largely Beth Ehlers. She has no business being here, nevermind the fact that when she and Taylor do mingle with those outside of Taylor's military circle, she falls flat. Ehlers isn't an AMC actress. That's why TPTB are trying to accomodate her by pairing her with RPG and JR Martinez. She has an established rhythm with RPG and can create something new with Martinez.

She could've been a butch lesbian lover for Bianca, but... :unsure:

:D OK, I laughed really hard...

I really like Beth Ehlers. I think the problem is that AMC has not made a really big attempt to integrate her elsewhere. She's had a one second scene with David (which was enjoyable), she bitched out Zach...a one second scene with Erica...and!?!? I do like her chemistry with Cornelius, MEK, RPG, and JM, but she needs to move outside that zone. I think she has the chops to pull it off, but AMC hasn't seemed really motivated to move her outside the comfort zone. JMO.

I really like Ehlers and Taylor because she's a contrast from the other women on the show and cares about "real" issues, not about anything that would be produced by Fusion, or snagging someone else's man. I liked her opposite Amanda because I felt they really brought out the differences in each other. Amanda is all about money, men, and looking pretty, essentially, whereas Taylor is about serving her country, competition, and living life on her terms. She doesn't define herself by a man she's with or how beautiful she is compared to this girl or the next girl like EVERYONE else on the canvas. And I think in many ways it's good to have that contrast, but the trouble that comes with it is integrating her into the canvas and showing WHY she fits in this town. I think now that they're breaking her away from having to go back to serve in the war, hopefully they will be able to ground her more in the canvas. I'm hoping they'll have her join the police force since that's the most local version of what she wanted to do with her life. She can interact with Jesse more, then struggle with trying to do things by the book more than she was used to doing in the trenches when everything operates at the extremes.

      I think of Evan as a smarmy bast*rd. Maybe you'll like that description. You certainly have him pegged correctly since he is just a soldier following "Admiral" Iris's marching orders.

      So far the only interest I've seen from Evan to Amanda has been listening to Iris's orders to go and seduce her.  So far he hasn't been successful... but who knows. Amanda is unbearable at times. Entitled, spoiled... idiotic. Iris... so blatantly manipulating her and Amanda takes the bait. But I guess... when she gets in trouble... she'll have a chance to learn. That's what makes these shows so interesting.    Oh, no, don't worry. You haven't ruined a thing. Evan has not been on my radar that much... he was not one of the characters I was caring particularly... so nothing much has been changed for me. I don't think he has the stuff to ruin Rachel's life. He's just a pretty guy that can follow orders. Iris on the other hand... is dangerous.

      The show has gone back to 10/10 entertainment! I'm glad that I was right in feeling that what were experiencing were growing pains. I'm sure they are not over yet, but I'll know that we always comeback to quality drama. I think it's going to be a hell of ride (in a good way) from this moment on. BTG has that magic that not a lot of shows have. I'll update more... when I'm done catching up.

      So very glad to hear this. Yesterday I suddenly thought; OMG, what about spoilers, have I just  ruined things for Maxim in getting carried away with interest in Evan, who was so well-written & well-acted. BTW, your fan review of this episode was a sight for eyes that had not seen one of these for a little bit too long, LOL!!!  Mitch is also fascinating to me but in his case it's because he was all in with Janice & her nefarious plan & then he did this turnabout we've mentioned & he basically got off scot-free.

      It does seem cheap and lazy for this show to have just one family. Passions was heavily criticized but it was nicely structured with a total of four families.

      I think it was definitely a surprising reveal in the storyline. I had a hard time appreciating Evan because I couldn't get behind his interest in Amanda. But that's because I never thought Sandra Ferguson made her a compelling character (although to give her credit she occasionally had decent emotional scenes with Mac or Rachel).

      I'll even go further... I'll make her re-think BeLief and create a new patent. Brooke needs stuff to do. Anything other than beg or be in her panties. We need her to be creative. But sadly Bradley has a very low opinion of these characters. To him Brooke is nothing more than sex and scandal... or a pathetic doormat. Ridge is nothing more than a chauvinist pig that needs to pit women against each other to feel like A MAN and Steffy is nothing more than her father's guard-dog. I don't even want to open my mouth about Hope. She is such a fiasco in my opinion... I will not suffer if they kill her off. Bradley pooped on her character and now it's too late to fix it. Annika is great and I would hate to see her go, but slutty Hope was not her thing. The vibe was missing.

      I've seen Jason interact with Mitch and annoy him. That's as far as I recall. I didn't even have a slight idea that Evan had a vendetta against Rachel... That came as a surprise to me. I thought Evan was Iris's dog and that's it. Now he's definitely more interesting.

      Thanks for these. I can't recall -- did Evan's vendetta have any position on Mitch, or was it all about Rachel? @Maxim have you seen any Frames intreracting with Mitch in any way?
