Administrator Toups Posted February 2, 2009 Author Administrator Share Posted February 2, 2009 I was very surprised too. The conversation with Lisa probably went like this: Lisa's connection at Y&R (Marla Kanelos? Amanda Beall?): Hey, want to come write for Y&R? Lisa: Hell ya!! When do I pack my bags!! [not literally of course since writers don't have to move anymore] Lisa's connection at Y&R: Welcome to the #1 soap. Lisa: So long Goutman!!!!! I don't have to write your crap anymore. Members NYC123
I remember Lisa Connor at AMC. She was a producer there wasn't she?
Administrator Toups Posted February 2, 2009 Author Administrator Share Posted February 2, 2009 I believe she just arrived at the end of Hogan's run at ATWT, so I don't think she knows him that well. Lisa knows Marla Kanelos and Amanda Beall from their AMC days.
Members rangethatrover
AH! That is right. I always forget that Hogan Sheffer is a head writer at Y&R. Its always Maria in my mind. So really anybody from his stints at ATWT and DAYS could be contenders (if he liked them)...
Members Kubla Khan
Producer, then moved to breakdown writing.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I'm guessing Maria is ready to fire a few more people when their contract cycles are over. Also, Zimmerman and Cohen are on trial, so who knows if she'll keep them when their trial period is up.

Members rangethatrover
WHY? WHO? These would basically be writers she feel are not doing well? It is almost Maria's job to coach writers?
Members brimike
Yeah, he worked with Lisa when they were both BDW's. I'm most interested in AMC because whoever they hire needs to excel in breakdowns AND scripts, since rumor has it one writer has to do both on AMC episodes. I hope it's somebody with experience in both. And I only mentioned Barbara Bloom because Kanelos and Beall are both on the team, and they're both former PC'ers. I'm not saying they don't deserve their jobs - just they probably got hired by Bloom's recommendation.
Members Jonathan
I'm not eating lunch until I know who this AMC writer is. Toups is going to cause me to become emaciated.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Yes. It's not her job to coach them, they should know what she expects from them and they should already have the knowledge to know what to do.
Administrator Toups Posted February 2, 2009 Author Administrator Share Posted February 2, 2009 I think so too. Maria "I will cut you" Bell is sharpening her axe. Oh yeah. I keep forgetting about that.
