Democrats in Congress listening to the idea that the public wants nonstop trolling and melodrama, which I doubt ever does much to help Democrats

this!

There is real human suffering.  I don't want the news turned into a "scandalous" soapy reality show to get clicks.

Stewart has always been a narcissist, suffocating in his ivory tower, and loves the fantasy that Republicans are fun and wild while Democrats are the ones truly deserving of scorn. He was more upset over Biden's pardons and people calling Trump a fascist than he has ever been over anything Trump has done. I especially hate that "Who? Lil ol' me?" face he does and the Comedy Shouting And Cursing. He is in his sixties and still thinks he's 20 years old.

Jon Stewart is very into both-sides-ism.  I had to stop watching him because of that.

I'll take your words for it, I haven't watched Stewart nor the Daily show since 07-08.

I do think "both-sides," not picking on you Jane because as I said I don't watch Stewart, gets thrown around too much. If you don't call out both parties when warranted, you lose credibility with all but the most partisan.

There's no doubt that Bill Maher has changed more minds than Cobert/Guttfeld/Oliver combined.

CBS gotta kiss that ring.

I know they were going to gut late night anyway [...] but they wanted to send a message to Trump, and they have.

It would serve CBS and Paramount right to do all this just to have the Trump administration nix the proposed merger with Skydance anyway.

That's probably exactly what he is doing to do, unless the Skydance people (who are also big Trump donors/ass-kissers) want it.

First NPR gets their funding pulled. Now Colbert gets canceled. I hope people are beginning to see that those who thought they could keep shitting on Dems for clicks, clout, and engagement played themselves in ways we are just beginning to see. A lot of people thought they’d would be insulated from the fallout of putting this monster back in office and I’m going to enjoy watching them discover how wrong they.

As for Colbert, I don't have anything against him. As far as the Daily Show types go he's one of the better ones but for me, the Late Show being cancelled means there's one less place Bernie and AOC can go to launder their anti-Dem talking points. I'm especially grateful Colbert will be gone by the midterms and I’d be thrilled if Stewart were too.

Another thing to consider is that late night TV is pretty much dying and has been for years. (Anybody who has watched the HBO show "Hacks" has probably seen some of this conversation.) The fact that CBS isn’t continuing the show with another host is a tell. I expect other networks to follow suit. The one I’m interested in is SNL when Lorne Michaels retires.

This is a perfect example of why I'm staying on the sidelines and watching how things shake out. It's also why I'm not thinking about the midterms and/or 2028. By the midterms we will be looking at two years of deportations, internments, and the GOP deporting and harassing their own supporters. Hopefully certain demos wake up.

These people... you know who they are... the ones with the red hats that glorify a monster... these people are basically destroying every single review-page in goodreads with their hatred and toxicity. They are targeting authors and people who are democrats and supported Kamala Harris. The amount of fake-negative reviews under books that are amazing... is just disgusting. They are skewing the real grade of the reviews and that makes me so mad. Why are these people like that? Don't they have lives... I guess not. It's just so absurd. Even Stephen King's books are getting unreal amount of fake negative posts by these people. I am so disgusted.

This is where I'm at as well.  I'm sorry that so many have had to suffer (and will continue to suffer) because they voted from a place of ignorance, but...shrug...y'all were warned!

54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. That voting bloc has a lot of internal work to do.

In a way, they're like a lot of African-American men who also voted for Trump: they're attracted to his swagger and give-no-f**ks approach.  They think that's the kind of approach that puts haters in their places and gets the job done.  IOW, they think with their d*cks.

What the world saw on the campaign trail was only part of the story. My new book is a behind-the-scenes look at my experience leading the shortest presidential campaign in modern history. 107 Days is out on September 23. I can't wait for you to read it: kamalaharris.link/107DaysBook
