Thank you for sharing this.  It says so much about the trauma many who lived through this are still experiencing. My niece lives and works in NYC for the Health Department. She's lived there for 16 years - loves it. When the Peace Tower was completed, there were problems getting tenants. You likely know this already. There was talk that part of the health department would move there. She knew so many native New Yorkers who worked there who said they would not go there and would quit if their department(s) moved there. And as you said, the trauma is still there. Also, there are many New Yorkers who still have not been to the Museum on the site nor at the site itself, it's that haunting.

Now in the times we are in, it's especially touching that you are slowly getting beyond the trauma of those days.  In some ways the vile and hate we are experiencing in pockets of this country today are a reminder to some of the bile spewed towards many of our fellow residents from that day who were equally if not more traumatized. Take care of yourself and I pray that we can come to a time where all of us can move forward together with respect, hope, and peace.

Thank you.

For years, I mostly stayed away because I happened to be on the subway and was going over the bridge, happened to look down and saw a huge gaping hole where the N and S towers used to be, and my heart sank into my stomach. I also thought the air quality was likely toxic and wanted to be nowhere near that area if I could possibly help it. I remember having to show up for jury duty selection and wanting to get in and out of the area, which admittedly was probably a safe enough distance away from the footprint. Perhaps when I finally make my way back to the footprint, I might stop considering it a graveyard.

In post debate news, according to this article, the Russian propaganda machine are confused and befuddled by VP Harris’ performance in the debate.
Putin Pals Eat Crow as ‘Complete Fool’ Creams ‘Our Donald’

They are going to learn eventually to never underestimate a Sista, racist and sexist stereotypes aside.

Another article where "undecided" voters end up leaning more toward Trump after the debate, which is another reason I am not sure the debate will hit people the same way it may affect us.

I know this is SNL but it's one of their better political takes.

A statement from Linda Ronstadt (she has always been on the left but is saying something as Trump is having a hate rally in an auditorium bearing her name).

They interviewed a whole of 10 people.

The pragmatic likelihood, from what I've heard, is that she goes up maybe 2-3 points nationally but starts opening up bigger leads in swing states. That's what the Harris campaign is looking for.

And now, some garbage:

I never expected to think Marjorie Taylor Greene was on the more reasonable side of an argument. Luckily Loomer's litany of complaints against her reminded me that they're both terrible.

I thought Republicans were blaming Tulsi Gabbard for Trump's bad debate prep. I guess it takes a village.

Couldn't Stevie Nicks just use her witchcraft to make Kamala Harris president already?

There would've been more, but their darn cats kept walking across their keyboards.

PSP might have stolen Linda Ronstadt's incredible talent as a singer, but she is not allowing it to keep her from speaking out on behalf of immigrants and I love that.  If only we all could be as brave.

Thanks @Vee . That's a cute photo.

Marianne Williamson continuing the descent of so many of the purity left/grifter candidates. I knew the dead end left were right wing at heart but it's disgusting to see them bandwagon on such blatant racism and fearmongering.
