Melania is just as disgusting as her felon hubby. She's no victim.

I will say people should start carrying duck call thingies. Because, even on day #1, this is a lame-duck presidency. (Yes, I realize the GQP and Dump will likely try to change that, BUT three-quarters of Congress is required to appeal and Amendment. And when (because he will) he tries another 1/6, I still think there are enough American (read: not Trump) loyalists that will drive his ass out again. But it will be violent.)

Not like that's going to matter to Trump. He has control of the House and the Senate and not to mention he has SCOTUS at his beck and call. Who's going to stop him from doing whatever he wants to accomplish? As far as I'm concerned, this is pretty much the beginning of the end of our democracy. All we can do now is keep a low profile and hide as much as possible and hope to God the government doesn't decide to target you next. And if you can afford to move out of the United States, LEAVE NOW. It's only going to get a lot worse from here.

Let me make one final plea, Mr. President. Millions have put their trust in you. And as you told the nation yesterday, you have felt the providential hand of a loving God.

In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country. We're scared now.

There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and Independent families. Some who fear for their lives.

And the people – the people who pick our crops, and clean our office buildings who labor in poultry farms and meatpacking plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals -- they may not be citizens, or have the proper documentation. But the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. They pay taxes and are good neighbors. They are faithful members of our churches, and mosques, synagogues, gurdwara, and temples.   I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those in our communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away.  And that you help those who are fleeing war zones and persecution in their own lands. To find compassion and welcome here. Our God teaches us that we are to be merciful to the stranger, for we will all once strangers in this land.

May God grant us the strength and courage to honor the dignity of every human being, to speak the truth to one another in love, and walk humbly with each other and our God. For the good of all people. The good of all people in this nation and the world.

Amen.

Note:  This was for the National Interfaith Prayer Service at the Washington DC National Cathedral, that is traditionally held on the morning after every inauguration ceremony.
By tradition, Trump was forced to sit there and listen to her.

Mariann Edgar Budde is a name I won't ever forget. Tears in my eyes. Thank you, Mariann! Thank you for fighting for us!

More than a dozen religious leaders spoke during the interfaith service, including those from Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist and Hindu traditions.

------------

Bishop Budde is known for being very upset in 2020 after Trump staged an appearance in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church, which is near the White House, when he held up a Bible after the area had been cleared of peaceful protesters.

IN full.

Thank you for posting this, from the Cathedral's youtube channel.
She's great, it's in full, and we get to just look at her.
(On the CSPAN version, it mostly focused on Trump's face.  This cathedral version doesn't show him at all.)

Trump’s ‘day one’ executive orders trash LGBTQ rights

Quote

But that’s not all. President Biden issued several executive orders dealing with LGBTQ rights issues during his administration. In his first day back in office, President Trump rescinded all of them.

I knew it was going to be bad, but how bad can we actually stand?

Yes, I think it's even more powerful when you hear the full thing. She was hinting and commenting on things that probably made his blood boil... during the entire thing.

People like her give me back all the hope and courage to fight for my freedoms. In these 15 minutes she has achieved more for humanity than that man can ever do in his lifetime.
