I never doubted she would perform well, but it's just different for any politician when having to deal with something like Trump live and that's why I tried to ground my expectations. She had a lot to do beyond just holding her own, which would not suffice at this stage of the campaign. She had to continue to introduce and define herself for more voters (per the polling) while also knocking Trump down and hurting him, which is no mean feat. She managed to do it all and then some. Probably the best to ever take him on. I should've stuck with my earliest hunch.

Never, EVER underestimate the power of a Black woman, lol!

I tend to agree with this take (the full thing won't post). I don't think the debate will hurt Trump much if at all; the biggest help for Harris is that it comes at a time when a lot of negative headwinds were being put on her.

Trump retreated to his safe place this morning:

It's also up there with, "Well, the number of COVID cases in this country would stop rising if people would just reporting them!"

RFK Jr. has a worm in his brain, but Trump's brain has what the worm pooped out.

Frankly, I had every confidence that Kamala Harris would emerge victorious in last night's debate.  If I've learned anything from being around Black women all my life, it's that they know their [!@#$%^&*] and dare you to come for them.

And even if it were true that immigrants are eating pets - AND IT IS NOT TRUE - what does that say about this country and our ability to feed every individual who lives here?

Women of color are uniquely positioned to take on and handle bullies like Trump, given all the sh!t they have to deal with from society and forces that wish to erase them from every narrative. Kamala knew what she was getting into and her experience likely positioned her to strategically navigate through Trump’s old gimmicks.

You had to know Page Six would come in with a crazy conspiracy

I mean, any fool would have predicted the questions, so that's hardly an advantage.

Harris' campaign drops the entire debate as an ad:

Exactly.  WOC always "bring it," because they know that nobody (including white women) has had their backs since the beginning.

It annoys the heck out of me when certain people suggest that Kamala Harris can't put a sentence together.  Number one, you don't get to be a D.A., a State Attorney General, a United States Senator OR Vice President by being incoherent; and number two, even on her most word salad-y day, Kamala Harris is still far less dangerous to our democracy than Mr. Concepts of a Plan.

when ever trump, or one of his surrogates, would say that she depends on the teleprompter and i wished that someone would point out that the woman was a prosecutor and district attorney and there are no teleprompters in the courtroom!

I have yet to talk to a person who doesn't think that she completely left him in pieces. She intellectually, spiritually, emotionally dominated and exposed him.

Just the way she walked to him and said - Kamala Harris. The tone of her voice. I got goosebumps. You could feel how shocked he was in that moment, he didn't expect that energy to come in. He was scared to even look at her from that moment on.

That's how mediocre feels when greatness walks in.

Kamala Harris is walking new paths that nobody's walked before. She really is the ONE.
