The thing is, reporters who attended the conference didn't INSIST that he answer their questions, not even after he didn't answer them the first time.  You're journalists!  It's your job to hold people's feet to the fire when necessary!  I mean, didn't those nincompoops learn anything from Mike Wallace?

The best service Lawrence performed in that clip was to show the difference of how they treat Biden vs. Trump. There's no way to spin it or deny it. The double standard was shamefully clear.

I agree.

And isn't it funny how many of these folks who said Biden was SO old and SO frail and that he should drop out of the race "for the good of the country" are perfectly fine with him remaining in the WH until after the election?  Why wait until January for Biden to go?  Why not invoke the 25th Amendment and have him replaced immediately?  You say he isn't up to another grueling election or another four years in the WH, but he IS up to remaining in charge until then?  Make THAT make sense for me, people.

No, the GOP, with ample help from the MSM, threw out the bait; and the Democrats TOOK the bait, like we always do.  And now the Democrats can't understand why the GOP and the media won't do the same to Trump, lol?

On the one hand, it's shameful how we seem to have moved on from Biden so quickly.  But, on the other hand, maybe that's a good thing for him and for his family, because at least they've left him the hell alone.

Ok, I'm going to say it. The way it happened may not have been ideal, but I'm glad that Biden stepped down and Harris took over. If that hadn't happened I'm sure we would have been here in November with Trump as the newly elected president. Now I have actual hope and belief that he will be beaten. Trump and his team had a plan how to beat Biden and you can bet it wouldn't have been pretty. Now on the other hand, they're completely lost. Their entire strategy is useless, and they're panicking and scrambling for ideas. Kamala Harris has brought a vigour and enthusiasm to the campaign that Biden, for all his other fine qualities, simply wouldn't have been able to do.

Maybe it was painful and hurtful for Biden to be more or less pushed out, but if the alternative is 4 more years of Trump in the White House and all the devastation that would bring to, not just the U.S, but the whole world, then that is something I'm ok with. I know that might sound callous, and I do have the utmost respect for Joe Biden and what he has accomplished, but sometimes the end does justify the means....

in total agreement with everything you said!

yes, it was difficult — even painful — to watch. but i don’t think it was unfair, unkind, or in anyway diminishes our appreciation of the president. much as we love our elders, sometimes we have to take away the car keys.

of course, seniors age differently — look at june squibb. and while the president was pitch perfect welcoming the russian hostages, after the debate performance, it would have been too much of a risk for him to continue.

and in an ass backwards kind of way, i think the timing worked out perfectly. waiting until after the republican convention for biden to step down, left trump, et al flailing.  whether planned or happenstance, it turned out to be a stroke of genius.

I think the way things were done re: Joe was often ugly and shameful. I do think we are in a very good place today, and frankly I wouldn't trade it. Everything else is very complicated and I can talk about it another time.

We are apparently up by 2 in AZ, but that depends on what poll you believe.

Harris is handling another heckler in AZ, a bit more diplomatically (if less fun). She makes it clear she wants a ceasefire.

That won't satisfy the far-left anymore than her other statement did.

This helicopter flight lawsuit threat is so bizarre. I gather from CNN that Trump considers that it proves that Willie Brown told him "terrible things" about Kamala but the idea that Brown's denial enrages him so much that he is threatening to sue people is plain weird.
