Members SnCCorinthos4ever
From our on line newspaper. it even has live chat. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/beijing_o...5014104,00.html MICHAEL Phelps has begun his quest for eight Olympic gold medals in Beijing in impressive style, taking the men's 400m individual medley in a world record time of 4min03.84sec Phelps was under world record pace all the way, holding off a challenge from Hungary's Laszlo Cseh and Ryan Lochte of the US, who took silver and bronze. Cseh was more than two seconds behind Phelps, who said on the eve of competition his greatest challenge would come in the 400m IM. It now appears the only thing which can stop him in his history-making quest is bad luck or a teammate letting him down in one of the three relays. Tomorrow he goes for his second gold in the men's 4x100m freestyle relay.

Members Jess
I thought the ceremony was great, although, the parade of athletes to get a little dull. I thought the lighting of the torch was great and the drummers at the beginning was amazing.
Members jcar03
I was rooting for that swimmer. I felt so bad for him in 2004 when he was only 14 and false started and was disqualified now to go on and win the first ever Swimming Medal for Korea and Gold at that is awesome.
