Guza Jr to DAYS?

Why even compare daytime with the best movies ever made? Why watch medical storylines when they can be seen on ER or Greys? Why write supercouples when they already exist in Diseny movies, etc, etc. You can compare everything on daytime with prime time or movies but for some reason you guys only like to bitch about the mobsters.

I am stunned that people are rationalizing the idea of Guza writing Days. Stunned. Click-Boom was ELEVEN years ago, people. Since then, HBO and The Sopranos have turned Guza into the world's best-paid fan-fiction writer. He cannot stop fan-wanking Carmel-y, Sony Toprano and Jason Christ, Saviour of All Mankind. When the Gooz is forced to write for others, he rips off 24 and The Towering Inferno and a host of B-movies to do it.

I don't think he even really likes the characters he writes. I wouldn't wish Guza on any soap, least of all one I used to cherish.

Because that's my damn opinion.

You know, some of you kill me. You want everyone to listen to your opinion....and then say one word that you disagree with and then you say "Whydo you always bitch?!"

I'll watch what I want to watch, and bitch about what I want to bitch about. Thank you.

And......I will never seek your approval for doing either.

General HOSPITAL was around a looooooooong time before Grey's Anatomy or ER.

Guza has ripped plots right from the Godfather. Clink-boom is the biggest one that springs to mind. Hell, even Sonny is referred to as "The Godfather," by Spinelli.

I don't know what this "you guys," is supposed to mean. Did you just get a new labelmaker? Because it seems you're very label-happy.

I know I've personally ripped into GH for their blatant ripoffs of Pirates of the Carribbean as well as The Devil Wears Prada. The Mob squad is not exempt from that. Michael "Sonny" Corinthos = Michael Corleone + Sonny Corleone. Same damn thing. Guza's a hack. Better minds have thought this [!@#$%^&*] up before him, he just repackages it up and displays it.

I wasn't talking about just General Hospital, more about soaps in general. I'm not defending the GH mobsters or anything, I can't stand them, mainly because of how unrealstic they are. I just don't get why the mob-stories get so much blame (again, not speaking about just GH).

    • I never had much of a problem with Brandon Claybon's performance as Martin. He has gotten much better though. While I enjoy his confrontational scenes, I must say his lighter, and carefree scenes from Thursday's episode are the ones that stood out most in the last 3 days (to me).
    • I know that Secret Storm had moved back to the 4/3 PM timeslot in the final months on air, so it's possible that they were trying to employ new techniques/elements to lure the teen demographic.   If that episode was around November/December 1973, I do wonder if the owners (AHS) were still trying to shop the show to other networks still.. or if they had accepted that the show was going to officially go off the air in Feb 1974 at the time of this episode airing.
    • Jordan should have been killed or written out a decade ago.
    • Xander kidnapped her a few times when she was a baby I much prefer this bitchy version of Rafe to the dull one we have had for the past few years. Leo would get on my last nerve too and I would probably have snapped by now too. Loved Roman and Doug3. My favourite scenes today. Much better than his forced kindness to Ava. About time somebody pointed out Sophia is an adult any minute and can decide her own life. This is not Handmaid's Tale. I bet Mrs Choi snatches that baby though if Sophia signs it over to 'strangers'
    • Hmm, well, I thought yesterday was "Dialog City" so at least IMO it was well done talk. Today I'm all about how harsh Dante just was to Gio & I get it that he's so scared but it's all coming out like anger - and judgment, harsh judgment. But, what they're doing is putting as much bad, troubling icky stuff between Dante & Gio as they can & it's a set-up. Good writing, acting, directing, tho. What's weird is I only recently realized that Lulu does not know it's Gio. However, I just had a thought. One day last week someone tried to kill Sonny & got killed. That wasn't words. That was action.
    • Yes, that's the way it went, the dramatic beats, the increased info dropped. Actually, his being Janice's son was such clever writing, at least IMO.  Yes, I was of this same impression. Both were charming but the first ... more layered maybe? More complex? The second maybe less sophisticated.
    • His original motives were unclear and all we knew was that he was working for Iris. But when it was revealed that Evan was Janice's son we found out that he had fallen in with Iris not because he wanted to follow Iris specifically but because he had his own anti-Rachel agenda. Charles Grant had more charisma than the later recast Eric Scott Woods who seemed younger to me.
    • Throwing this out to the universe: finding Elisabeth Shue's episode of As the World Turns (which I guess would have been circa 1983, maybe just before RDJ started watching Search for Tomorrow).
