AMC: Catching up with Mary Fickett

Thank you for posting this. I often wonder what became of so many former soap stars and love reading articles like this. I think she looks great for 80, and her bedridden issues aren't shocking since at the time she left AMC, it was known that she had bad arthritis and mobility problems. She will always be Ruth to me.

No disrespect to Ms. Meriwether or her fans, but she is not Ruth Martin to me, and she never will be. Once Mary Fickett retired permanently, AMC should have killed off Ruth. It would have been heartbreaking, but IMO, it also would've been the right and only thing to do.

Ruth Parker Brent Martin. Hmm. I'd like to see the Parkers brought in to the Pine Valley fold. It could be interesting.
