It's so odd to read that so-and-so has been grouchy lately and someone else is depressed over the breakup over her marriage -- especially as it's just casually mentioned in the article. We haven't seen that kind of reporting in the soap press for a very long time!

Sorry, I don't have all of the last parts of their interviews. Here's what I have.

Cannon:

Tony is the "renaissance man," who is multi-talented. He's a carpenter, a builder, a creator. Walk into his small Greenwich apartment, which he shares with his wife, Lucille, and his cat, and you will see craftsmanship of the highest quality. And in their home in Connecticut Tony is forever rebuilding walls and restoring antiquities. He is also the creator of the Delphic knife which is now retailing in several of the biggest outlets. The knife, which Tony designed purely for reasons of safety and practicality, is an ingenious invention which has been catching on quite nicely.

And as if that weren't enough, Tony will perhaps be acting in a new play at Actor's Studio (he is a member) called Hugs and Kisses, and he will also begin to teach acting to students at the Lee Strassberg Institute.

His wife, Lucille, who used to work for Actor's Studio, is into television casting. She just completed work on the now defunct prime time series, Beacon Hill, and presently she is casting a series of films for WNET, the public broadcasting channel.

Most often Tony and Lucille (or Lou, as he affectionately calls her) prefer to pack their things and head for the country house where Tony is usually up "before the birds." The live in a radius where many actors also have homes, yet they are remote enough to maintain their privacy. And Tony loves mixing with the locals. "It's such a good down-to-earth feeling," he explains, "to buy your milk fresh and to grow your own vegetables. You should see my tomatoes. They're beauties. It's a good change for Lou and I to be able to get out.

"You know I grew up a city kid, from Coney Island, and it's such a treat for me to have a house of my own in the country. Now Lou and I are looking at another house, a very old one, which we would love to buy and restore, but the price is still too high for us to handle."

It was in Connecticut that Tony really began to get into cooking and he has collected so many recipes that he is thinking of putting out a book called The Out-Of-Work Actor's Cookbook. Recipes are chockful of interesting ideas, from rich desserts to gourmet dinners.

Tony confesses that he will miss The Doctors, a show that has been very good to him. "But the soap has gone through many changes in the last few months, and I realize that the writers had to write my part off. It has been an exhilarating experience, but the past few months have left me very tired and in such a state, that I almost welcome the change."

And, as we all can see, Tony does not suffer from lack of things to do. For sure, Tony will be back on daytime now that he has accrued so many friends from The Doctors. DAYTIME TV STARS wishes him all the very best in his future endeavors, and we know we'll be hearing from him again very soon.

Campbell:

Hector Elizondo, is now starring on the new prime time series, Popi.

Of her years on the soap opera, Carolee says that they all "just blend together." But she does remember one very funny incident. "I was down in Mexico," she recalls, "and I had to get back to New York the following day to tape a show. I arrived at the airport, which was small because we were in a remote area - and I looked up and saw this plane which had just taken off. I asked which plane that was, knowing full well that there was not many departing flights. To my horror, they told me that it was the plane for New York - it had been rescheduled and had left a little early!

"I had to go back to the hotel and call the producer and tell him that I wasn't going to make the show. Palmer Deane replaced me! They got him to say my lines...you can see how much I was needed."

Carolee started the show as an extra nurse and soon the role was built up to a small speaking part. The audience so responded to her that the writers decided to write her role into the storyline as a major character. She had such a tremendous rapport with David O'Brien (Steve Aldrich), that the writers saw an excellent opportunity for a soap opera romance.

"But at that time, my role was more comedic and I truly enjoyed doing it," she now reflects. "Through the years I became the typical suffering housewife and that wasn't as much fun."

She will miss the soap opera, but she's eager to open new doors and the only way that can be done is to close one firmly. "One day I walked into the studio, and, after three years of deliberation, I knew it was time to leave," she explains simply.

Anthony Cannon/Tom are a bit of a mystery to me as he is not featured much in synopses I have. I think he was a Nick type character and interacted with Althea. Maybe someone can clarify this. My feeling is he was brought on with much expectation but maybe didn't click with Althea and new writers dropped his character.

Thanks for telling me more about him. I know very little about him. I don't even think he's in IMDB for the role.

I always suspected it, but judging by that picture, Meg Mundy almost certainly had her face done before she took on Isabelle in the Loving pilot movie. Isabelle and Ann looked like they could have been sisters. Learn something new every day, I didn't even know that she was on The Doctors.

LOL, that was me too until I saw the Loving pilot movie! And even that I was like, "THAT was HER!? :o "

Since she is apparently still alive, if she's acting, OLTL should snap her up for a brief run. She can play Echo's mother, and clash with her like she clashed with Nola all those years ago.

(and Kathleen Turner could pass as Kimmer's sister...)

It's interesting seeing some of the old photos in the Digests, because for whatever reason there seemed to be tons of photos of the Doctors cast partying. Now I wonder if that's why they went off the air, because, in the words of Eddie Murphy, they partied all the time. One was "Kim Zimmer skates!" And you see Valerie Mahaffey skating too. If only we'd seen Alec Baldwin and Ian Ziering out there too. And the little girl from Mommie Dearest.

Carl, you are a STITCH.

I guess you're referring to little Christina ("Jesus Christ..."), I didn't know that she was on The Doctors. I had an "aha!" moment when I realized that was her as the Connors' meek kinda round teenaged neighbor on Roseanne. Her sister was a bad seed who got Darlene into trouble.

And it is interesting how much Kimmer and KT have aged similarly. I bet Kim would have loved to play Maggie the Cat, but Reva really was her own great southern belle.
