I was wondering how long they'd string that out. So classy of him to keep this going for so long.

I know this is long overdue and others have probably already said it, but Hannah Monson has been absolutely brilliant as Nicolette.

She’s managed to turn around a character that originally had no redeeming qualities into someone I enjoy seeing on screen.

So great.

Completely agree.

This is very nicely made by the fan, but the scene itself is also touching. Kudos to Guy Pearce for being willing to return for brief appearances and allowing the Jane and Mike love story to wrap up with dignity.

@Vee I know you are not on current episodes, but you may enjoy watching this scene.

While it's a beautiful edit... the score was not needed for this scene.

💯 Nicolette never stood out to me during Charlotte Chimes' tenure. But Hannah Monson has completely 180'd the role, and I adore her.

This was an odd week for me in that I feel like stories which should have had more focus (like Aaron and Logan and Jane and Mike) were wrapped up quickly, while stories that didn't warrant as much airtime got the focus instead.

I hope the show will consider bringing Logan back for more with Aaron, as I do think they had genuine chemistry and the idea of two men who loved (or in one case was obsessed with) David finding each other is very soapy. And Logan could also pull Aaron toward being a somewhat darker character, which would be interesting, especially with a potential custody battle looming.

Wendy wanting to live a life she never got to have makes sense for her character, who has always tried to be a bit cutesy and young, but going as far as they did with the huge house party and binge drinking in her own home feels like a step too far. To be honest I think it's actually worse than if she had gone out drinking with her friends and kissed Quinn, because she brought all of this into her own home, she moved pictures, everything.

One thing that annoyed me in this story and annoys me on any soap (I've seen H&A doing it more lately too) is pointless slo-mo or sped-up moments. Seeing Wendy playing peer bong in fast forward doesn't make me thrilled, it just makes me annoyed.

I also feel like, while I don't hate the story, too much time went to Kiri/Nicolette compared to the much more interesting story with Byron lying to get what he wanted. I want to see more exploration of this and not just a story where Leo finds out and they fall out for about two episodes. The Byron we first saw was much more of a grey character than what he has been on the reboot - why not take him back to that? I loved Nicolette's pride in him for scheming and plotting, but I wonder how she would feel if he started truly turning.

The best part of the week for me was the Toadie material (very rare to say that these days). It's a bit contrived to have all these memories of the past drop at once, but they did address this by having him admit he'd known about Sonya's Nursery woes for a while, he had just been ignoring them.

@Skylover So sorry to hear this. I'm not as up on old Neighbours as you and many others but any time I see Lyn in the old episodes she's a real spark plug - and she also feels like a character who was designed for Neighbours, rather than a generic figure.

It's a real shock, as Janet was always so vibrant and had a youthful energy about her!

It's been confirmed that Toadie was axed :( A sad week for Neighbours fans!

He seems copacetic about it in the extended comments. I am so far, far behind but I'll catch up (or jump ahead) sometime! "Death in the Outback" sounds fun.

I wonder if this is due to how poorly received the whole Terese/Toadie/Mel/Paul story was. That's not his fault but you could tell just how much the material was ill-suited for him. You could see a big shift in the original story when you had Mel telling Toadie last week that they never should have been together.

I suppose budget reasons may be at play too.

And she wasn't wrong. Melanie & Toadie should have never been paired. At all.

I'd be interested to hear from US members here thoughts on Tess and Heath? Their American accents sound so fake and cringeworthy to me. I wish they'd hired American actors.

I haven't heard him yet, but she seems to be from the US, or at least spent a lot of time there. She may just be trying to put on more of the cliche posh American Dynasty type of accent.

Tess is indeed truly terrible. And not just the accent.
