Some are saying that Charlie was axed by Santer, but Kirkwood changed plans to kill him off and will just let him exit happily.

Both Charlie and Big Mo could have been dropped since they haven't had anything substantial to do in years and were always supporting characters. With Stacey and Jean gone and Kat and Alfie in the Vic, I guess they wanted a new family to occupy the Slater house in the future, so Charlie had to go, while they're keeping Big Mo on as Kat's only family/support system left.

Some 90's Carol igniting a riot!

Cindy Beale is also in the clip. Love her.

People talk about how the women on the show now are too shouty, but that era had a lot of quiet women and they still went on a rampage.

Odd that Ruth wasn't arrested when she was in the middle of everything. I love when Nigel does a little celebration after he realizes he's being arrested. I guess he figured "Why not."

Considering what happened to a lot of the kids who probably played on that playground in those years, like Clare, Janine, Billie, Stephen, perhaps they were right to close it off...

So have any of you heard that Eastenders Children in Need this year is supposed to be crossing over with Corrie? Eastenders characters lost in Weatherfield or something.

That's a shame about Ina. I wonder if this was sudden? I remember not all that long ago they had her birthday on the show.

Good interview with Hamesh. I like that he said he never really watched before. I wonder what this story will be. Surely not another pregnancy...

I wonder if the Points of View interview is available. As often happens at DS more people seemed to focus on upset over minor things like why didn't Ian get to talk about his home being redecorated.

Apparently Anna Karen/Sal is credited for Week 46. That's nice they're still using her. I guess she's still a connection to Peggy.

Aw, they had a nice little "In Tribute to Ina Clare" title card at the end of today's episode. Ina did appear in the episodes as well.

Gotta love how Janine has Pat listed as "Fat Pat" on her phone.

I've been enjoying Janine a lot these past couple of episodes, it kind of feels like the Janine of 2000-2004. She's not some outrageous cartoon villain that plays tricks, they're playing up her vulnerability and how she does bad things to conceal it and get attention.

I loved the scenes where Pat knew Janine had kidnapped Lily and was trying her best to lie to Stacey, Jean, and Kat that she hadn't suspected anything.

The scenes with Pat, Carol, and Glenda were also quite enjoyable. Three very different women together.

That was a nice scene between Kat and Alfie towards the end with Kat opening up a little about her insecurities.

I can't be bothered to watch; is it to do with...

I haven't posted in here for a long time, but I will quickly say that I've loved the Carol story, and its psychological complexities; loved seeing Janine striped back to what the character is all about (something Santa never really got); loved seeing Alan & Blossom return, and really wish Alan (especially) could be made permanent, or at least recurring, as he was one of my favourite characters and still is - he really would add something different to the male half of the show; love everything about Kim; I even liked the possibilities of a story between Roxy/Christian/Syed, as I think that could've been quite relatable to a lot of people (best friend gets another half, and you're left out in the cold; the whole dynamic changes), but it was only a one episode wonder, and pretty pointless.

However, I haven't been enjoying the huge focus on Kat & Alfie, who are eating the show. Not thrilled about the possibilities of more Moons either. Don't like how terrible the pacing is still, and how a lot of characters are on the backburner doing nothing for months (Denise (whose story has ended too abruptly), Patrick, Masood, Zainab, Tamwar, Ian, Jane, Syed, Christian, Heather, Shirley, Mo, Greg (some scenes with Tanya would be nice, so we can asses them as a couple), Ronnie (who has vanished without a mention from anyone else). I also want to like Vanessa, but I find her very distracting (the horrible hair, always wearing beige/white), and very hard to care about this story with Jodie's paternity - not investing much air time in Harry, doesn't warm me to his pain, either. ETA: nuLauren also bugs me - why is she so full of moody angst since she's been away? She wasn't like this before she left.

    • But how is it "apparent" that she signed a new 3-year contract? Your wording had a voice of authority -- as if you knew it was true. A better way to post about it? Say you read online that she signed a new contract, but have no idea if that's true.
    • This interview actually reminds me a bit of Kim Zimmer’s press during the infamous clone storyline on Guiding Light, or Deidre Hall during the possession story on Days. All three were seasoned daytime veterans who made it clear they valued airtime for their characters, not just being part of a romantic pairing. It seems that idea was part of the pitch behind these bigger-than-life plots. They all took big swings in their performances. When I read Kim Zimmer’s memoir, I thought she captured it best — she wanted to be respected for being willing to take those risks. To paraphrase her, she knew it was ridiculous for Reva to think she was pregnant after menopause, but she still threw herself into those scenes and made them real. That’s what really struck me about Victoria Wyndham’s interview too. She responded like a real person. It felt like she was telling Michael Logan that she knew Justine — and a geriatric pregnancy with twins — was totally preposterous, but that she still deserved credit for trying to keep the show alive and entertain the audience. And honestly, I think that's more than fair. Logan is looking for a reductive answer for who is to blame.  And, she's telling him to accept that they were all well-meaning.  Which is not a defense of bad storytelling.  But, I understand that she's frustrated because she interpreted Logan's critique as a lack of commitment, and she wants him to know that she was committed! (maybe not for the best, but committed).
    • Fine, you only had to say so. It's not a problem to me NOT to post this. I have no idea what this means.
    • Oh, really? I think we're really getting close.  What does "apparently" mean to you? To me, it means that this is something I think has happened but not something I absolutely positively know to have happened. When I use a word like "apparently" as I have here, I am doing so by intent. Can you think of a better way to communicate that?
    • Wow...I was not expecting a montage.   I know SilkPress did not!!! Poor Eva.  Lol. Funnily enough I missed that.
    • For the record, VW thought having the twins at their ages was absurd & who wanted that story, was some group of fans, who wanted her & Carl to have a chance at having children together. Not any fans that I knew of, but supposedly they existed.
    • Brandon Tartikoff saved NBC primetime. Brandon Stoddard got ABC Tuesday to rebound and put an end to the Aaron Spelling hit factory.
    • Awwwww Brad. I know I shouldn't, but I feel bad for him

And yeah, agreed that Dante having animosity towards Gio is very forced and contrived. And it also has me concerned that it means the reveal won't be happening anytime soon.
    • God, I love that woman. Another amazing interview!!
    • We can only guestimate based on other characters. Chelsea was said to be 23 in the first episodee and based on Marttin wanting to run for President in the next election, he's about 30/31. Eva and and Kat are somewhere between that  so Id say closer to 25 or 26
