I had a crappy week at work. I don’t know how else to describe it. For anyone who thinks I just make stuff up for DAYS and it’s perfectly realized on the TV screen, I’ve got a flash for you… I strike out more than I hit. So many times I’ll work out a story only to have it axed. It’s not that I think I’m always right. But sometimes the rejection and the sense of “fighting City Hall” is just exhausting emotionally, physically and (worst of all) mentally.

Well, at least she kind of admits that she sucks...

Sorry, my sympathy only goes so far. City Hall is slowly becoming involved in your business, but it was ok when they were in Hogan's. You knew what you were getting into when Corday brought you back. You wanna work at a place where your ideas aren't axed? Either become a better writer or go to a place like well....ATWT and GL where they're perfectly content with putting crap on the screen.

As far as her personal life goes, I have nothing but respect for her. Raising a child with autism isn't an easy job, and I commend her. I'm glad her children are doing well.

For your mental and physical sake, Dena, let the new, younger, and fresh Rick Draughon become the lead Head Writer. Take a back seat and become the secondary Head Writer if you want.

i swear to god, this woman could cure cancer and people would bash her for it...

If she found a way to cure cancer....great. Doesn't negate the fact that she's a hack.

You can't be a "kind and loving" person in one area of your life while being a self-serving, backstabbing, ruthlessly self-promoting, disloyal, cold-hearted, diabolical snake-in-the-grass scab in another. The fact that this woman who, rumor has it, made it a condition of her return to DAYS the wholesale firing of the existing writing team can actually blog about how "crappy" her work week was blows my mind. For her children's sake, I can only hope she's as good a mother as she portrays herself. But I have to wonder when they're old enough to ask her what a 'scab' is what her answer will be.

I really do find her blog humanizing.

I was never deeply involved in her Days or her OLTL, so I can't speak from a sense of personal victimization.

I find it courageous that she already speaks against "City Hall" (is that Corday? Sony? or NBC?). It means she will not last long, and I really get the feeling she would be okay with that.

Dena, dear darling honey, you need help. :P

She appears to be rather disturbed. I'd say it's an "adjustment disorder" if I were qualified.

Did she REALLY do this? I'd hate to villify her on a rumor...this one sounds QUITE provocative...but how can this be known?

Well I am sorry Dena but you knew what you were getting into. This is a tough business. With this update in her blog she is admiting she sucks. :P

Well I suppose all this comes with the territory of being a headwriter. Taking the flack from 'City Hall', getting story ideas axed when the HW thought they were good ones. NEWSFLASH Not everyone is going to think like you, Dena.

Perhaps if it's getting too rough for you at DOOL, you could always QUIT.

I have found a friend. I am with you Jack Peyton. I think she is doing a wonderful job. Maybe Dena thought she could be daytime's vesrion of Barack Obama and change things. Dena is miles above Hogan on his best day. I feel really bad that her creativity is being blocked and this is the problem with daytime today. Let the writer write for once!.
