DAYS: Sami/EJ Spoiler

The reason why DH is getting blame for this is because she is writing the show now. To blame Hogan or his people for this when they are no longer and she is, IMO, is wrong. Corday and her have decided to white-wash this entire episode.

And I'll applaud this when they actually address it, which they haven't. Other than a few scenes this entire mess has been swept over, IMO.

They now have taken the same type of story from Luke & Laura on GH and are about to pretty much do the same thing..........which absolutely stinks.

That's fair, Roman, and I don't like this sort of story either. I just think DH can get the blame for something like this when we know the whitewashing has been going on since last summer and we all know Corday is there to continue that trend. I'm not blaming Hogan either because, as I said in my last post, I don't think that was his direction. I blame Corday for this exclusively because this is most likely what he wants.

heres the thing, and yes i ama ware this is going to start alot of hate and bashing on me but whatver.. it wasnt rape. it wast. she wanted him to do something for her, he told her he would for sex. she didnt want to have sex but she wasnt forced into it.

there. i said it. hate me.

I know the scene was written in a manner to try to place the onus on the viewer for terming it (probably knowing that those that liked them would interpret it differently). The facts of the scene is that he used duress to get her to "go along" with his deal to save Lucas' life. It wasn't as if she had a real choice unless risking Lucas' death is seen as a viable option. It's not like making a deal where you actually have a real choice. It's rape by the definition of the word since it can be done by physical force or duress. Otherwise a deal for sex is along the lines of prostitution which wouldn't be applicable here. Nor was it some coy little exchange where she offered herself up because she had the hots for him.

JS's comment in the latest SOD takes the cake. Speaking of Johnny's 'conception': "Hopefully, it will be the last time they reference it".

This is the sickest, most depraved story ever aired on DOOL. All involved should be ashamed of themselves.

Oh good God. So they're just going to address in one episode (probably) and then just move on. I knew it. Dena's not going to take the time to tell a long term story, instead she's going to skip beats.

I don't think this is the story she wants anyway. I think she wants Lumi but Corday wants Ejami. Just like he forced Hogan's hand, he is forcing Dena's. That is why the whole second half of last year was nothing but pimping EJ and not handling the story properly.

She has played the beats in her other stories thus far s it's pretty obvious, especially when you consider she was a big Lumi fan before.

Also, keep in mind, I could care less because I'm pretty much over this whole thing with EJ/Sami so I don't have an interest either way. I just hope it's properly addressed. I don't think it has to be some long, drawn out thing. Just a heart to heart conversation and some mentions here and there about the uncomfortable nature of it all will be good enough for me, personally, but it may not be enough for others. We'll see.

Luckily for me, Tamara/Peter/Kristian/Mary Beth/Stephen aren't involved their story, so I can continue to watch DAYS clips on youtube and not be bothered with that bullshit. That's what it is to me...bullshit.

Some see it as rape, some don't. I do and choose not to watch that bullshit.

Some of us are not over it, so to each their own. To do and then drop it, then to go in either of these directions, smacks of lazy writing once again. But, what do I expect out of DH?

So sorry, but she hasn't played the beats from what I'm getting. This dosen't address one thing.......other than the fact that she and the EP are so lazy and think we are so stupid that they can do this crap and get away with it.

^Roman, I didn't say I was over what he did to her. I said I'm over the whole Ejami vs Lumi war. That's all. I 100% agree it has to be dealt with.

And I said what I said.

So there it is.

SOW Cover Headline: Sami Seduces EJ

WTF!!!! HE RAPED YOU 17 MONTHS AGO!!!! I guess Dena Higley truly believes that rape is romance. #%#$#$@#$@#$%#%#$%

*Runs into the arms of OLTL for a hug* :(

Yep. It's nasty that Sami has to throw herself at her rapist to get him to stop seeing her arch enemy. It's beyond disgusting.

I am done with the show, too. I stopped watching last week.

DAYS will never confront the rape aspect of Sami and EJ's relationship. In fact, DAYS has a history of sweeping controversial events under the carpet, stupidly, because it really opens up a whole bunch of storyline material for them.

This might be like Luke and Laura's situation initially. However, times are different now. This isn't the 70's, television and society has progressed since then. At least GH did confront the rape in the 90's - AND IT WAS BRILLIANTLY DONE. Michele Val Jean (a rape victim herself) pushed for that storyline and Guza and Riche let her run with it. The thing is, DAYS shies away from socially relevant storytelling. It has a tendency to ignore the boundaries of reality and just run with stuff based on a couple's chemistry. Which is fine I guess, but it really treats the audience as if they're a bunch of dumbass experiments.

Even if DAYS confronts the rape aspect, do any of you really expect a decent storyline? Looking at the current DAYS writing team, there isn't anyone I trust there to handle something so deep. Hell, can anyone name the last time DAYS did a socially relevant storyline and handled it well?

I agree Alvin.

The last time DAYS tried to tell a socially relevant story (which come to think of it, wasn't even ATTEMPTED to be a socially relevant story) they fucked it up. Mimi's abortion was a complete cesspool of clustfuckery. So glad Heather Tom ripped them a new one about that [!@#$%^&*].

I'd love to see DAYS called out by SOMEONE IN THE FREAKIN SOAP MEDIA about this [!@#$%^&*]. Chemistry aside, it's sickening. It's like putting Todd with Marty (which...they were contemplating at one time, thank god Roger and Susan stepped in).

Wow that's just gross and nasty. Good thing I don't watch this show anymore. Not even Tamara can get me to watch it. Well, gee let's see how many viewers are going to handle a rapist being seduced by his victim.

Even with Luke and Laura they redeemed Luke before they even tried to pair him with Laura.

I know I'm finally done with this show. It disgusts me what they've done to Sami in the name of this sicko pig who doesn't deserve it.

I'm not picking a fight with you Loretta, but many people don't like Ejami or Lumi, but hate the fact that a woman who was raped and tortured by her rapist (because he did torture her for months after) is going to be paired romantically with him.

My second thing is, how is a regular rape victim supposed to act? Is she supposed to cry in the shower while having flashbacks to that horrible night? No, I think Sami never truly addressed what happened to her, she tried to forget it happened.

I completely agree Ryan :)
