The Chelsea/Daniel fantasy kiss was stomach churning. Almost as bad as his surfer talk. Where is this story going?

I liked the EJ/Sami conversation/fight because I like seeing the old Sami again. Loved it when EJ asked her why didn't she just accuse him of hitting Johnny, and she said she could fight dirty if that's what he wanted. That's the Sami I love to hate!

MBE and TB were awesome again today. Both are doing a wonderful job, but I'm very ready to get this story moving...enough with Ava threatening to kill everyone and then changing her mind. I did get a kick out of Ava telling Kayla she was her surrogate and laying claim to the baby. The lady is absolutely psycho!

I agree the Ava and Kayla scenes were awesome. Kayla was amazing how one minute she was screaming at Ava in fury about her Pop's death and then in the next minute compassionately looking Ava right in the eyes and holding Ava's hand to her stomach - a total Kayla move to try to appeal to the good nature in someone. I remember her doing the same thing with EJ last year - encouraging him that he can be his own man, and even with Stefano - convincing him that he could honor Benjy by not pressing charges against Steve. MBE's eyes were just heartbreaking in those scenes, especially when she was trying to hold back the tears and talk to Ava.

After stalling for a couple weeks, the Ava storyline is back in full force finally..I absolutely loved all their scenes today...Ava is such a delicious crazy girl...First off kudos to MBE who gave one of her best performances in ages today..I finally felt some fire from her..Loved her going off on Ava for killing her father...Then i really enjoyed the scene where Hope was fading in and out of consciousness...Glad the writers aren't forgetting that Hope got shot..And finally i absolutely loved the end with Ava announcing that Kayla would be giving her the baby when its born...."Its the perfect trade, you've already got one anyways"...god i love Ava..

Sami and EJ were cute today..Dena has really made me start to care about them again..And EJ looked sexy today...I'm really looking forward to Jillian's cameo tomorrow..

Daniel, Chelsea, Kate, Nick, and Lexie's scene were the weak part about the episode...But I wasn't too bothered by Chelsea's fantasy....Dan is a sexy doctor and he saved her father's life..I could see why she'd develop a crush on him..

Tamara Braun has been fab, and today she was even more amazing than she has been. The range she has and what she can do, i could only imagine what she would be able to do with a fleshed out char with depth and layers.

MBE and PR have also been amazing. even SN, who always leaves me blahh has been good. I like this storyline and cant wait to see what goes down after its over with Ava.

Chelsea & Daniel were great. I love them.

and Sami, she was amazing. she has her edge back and i love it. also loved her saying nicole was a twig.

I enjoy Ava and enjoyed the performances on Monday. I haven't seen today's yet.

One comment -- or fear. I'm starting to sense Bad Dena creeping in here. This story with everyone being held hostage is really getting Sloooooow. I hope we aren't seeing the part of Dena that doesn't know how to move a decent story forward so it just stands still for months and months and month. I also hope she doesn't make Ava so crazy that she is a cartoon character (e.g. Mad Mags)

Now all of a sudden, Ava wants Kayla's baby? Where did that come from? Yes, it's true that I eventually wanted Ava to steal Kayla's baby, I wanted a real motive and build up to that decision.

And Chelsea makes me sick. I'm back to hating her again. If Chelsea/Dr. Jonas is Dena's plan, then it's really off to a bad start. How am I suppose to root for them when Nick is there loving her and worried about her? How long is Shawn's Christian's contract? Isn't it short term?

I hope he isn't around for long, because the show has ruined his character. I think the plan was to hook him up with Billie (which would have been fantastic!), and when she was fired, they didn't have a plan for him any more. The crush with Chelsea, the dialogue....it all reeks and is making me hate the character--both characters, actually. How much longer is Nick going to put up with her? If Chelsea really loved him, she wouldn't be developing crushes on every good looking guy that shows up in her life. He needs to dump her and move on.

I hate it when DAYS tries to work special guest stars like Jillian or special events like Earth Day into the episode. It's always awkward and messes up the pacing of the whole show. For most of today Ari looked like she didn't know where to stand and what to do and Ali was driving me nuts with the way she was fiddling with the top of her water bottle. And EJ's explanation of the green restaurant award was so fast and garbled I could barely understand what he was saying. They should just have the actors wear the T shirts (like Morgan) and put the posters in the background and leave it at that.

All of a sudden? Patch and her talked of having children. Kayla's baby has been a main focal point of the story and the idea was for it to be a shock when Ava announced her plan. Even so, it wasn't much of a stretch considering everything so it wasn't a shock nonetheless. What possible buildup should there have been? A scene where she says, "Hey, wait, I have a plan?" Seriously, that crap only happens under JER and all it does is lead to a repetitive pace and is lazy writing. The viewers are intelligent enough to understand why Ava came up with that plan. I don't think any additional scenes were needed.

MBE and TB were awesome yesterday. That was the Kayla I remember. Loved the Hope passing out scene too. The story is finally picking up again and I don't think the pace is off at all. It's been only 3 weeks since Hope is kidnapped and already Bo and Kayla have found her and Steve. Also enjoyed Sami and EJ yesterday.

I believe Shawn's contract is for a year. Not sure. Not really liking Chelsea/Daniel either although I do like Daniel. Enjoyed the Jillian stuff today. Ali and Ari were awesome Sami and Nicole are rocking and loved the punch and Nicole rubbing in her date with John. Nice seeing Maggie get something to do too.

Philip/Morgan have loads of chemistry and I enjoyed their scenes and the John/Paul stuff. I didn't think the Jillian or Earth day mentions were out of place and, even if they were, so what? I mean, maybe it's annoying in Jillian's case but as far as Earth day I appreciate it when soaps recognize things like that.

The show has been picking up, just in time for sweeps.

    • In regards to the Reva vs Erica discussions... I think there was one main difference between the two characters.... Erica never took over/ate up airtime on All My Children.  While she was a larger than life character, she never took over the show and there were times she was even supporting and not the lead.... while Reva basically suffocated Guiding Light in the later years with her presence.
    • That was such a missed opportunity, especially with May sweeps.  And, it would’ve been a much better story for Naomi/Jacob than whatever’s going on with June
    • https://www.hulu.com/hub/tv/collections/9979 Amazed! But loving it. What this shows is GH Hulu out of top 15, GH is #2 & this was Saturday. Are we happy campers? Yes, at least for the moment, you bet we are.
    • I forget his name but Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth had the EP on after they didn't understand the 60s flashback episode due to the lack of original music. He felt that was one of his strongest episodes so he came on to explain to them just how much the music changes hurt the series. Basically, they only allowed him to pick a selection of episodes he felt the music was vital and other than that they didn't bother to save the music.  They kept music for prom and things like the Color Me Badd episode and for most of the musical acts but any music you loved from the opening of the show or just music played in random scenes was cut.  I know there are also some scenes cut but I don't know too much about that. The most glaring one was Clare's final scene being cut which is obviously a huge problem for a character who'd been around for so long. Overall I was able to enjoy my rewatch using the DVDs but without all of the original music it isn't nearly as good a show.
    • Too many returns, that's when you know a show has run out of ideas and doesn't care anymore.  Zoe annoyed the sh!t out of me most times, but the Kat/Zoe storyline will always be iconic and close to my heart (that's the era I first started following the show in near real-time), and probably the only storyline in 21st century EastEnders that had long-term value for the characters involved during their initial run together. However, after all this time and the writing choice that Zoe never wants to see Kat again, I think that ship has sailed and I don't know that it makes sense to revisit it at this point.
    • Former EastEnders star Michelle Ryan is reprising her role as Zoe Slater on the BBC soap following an absence of over 20 years.  It’s been reported that Zoe will return to Albert Square later this year and that she’ll take centre stage in a dramatic new storyline involving her family.  The news comes amidst news of other big returns, which include Max Branning (Jake Wood), Tanya Cross (Jo Joyner), Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) and Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), who will also be back in Walford later in the year.
    • I actually love the new fashion.
    • Admittedly, I was a latecomer to ATWT (first becoming a regular viewer in 2000). But I really liked KMH's Emily. I thought she was a very specific kind of neurotic professional character, and I loved her prickly relationship with MM's Susan. I will say I don't think the show did her any favors after Hal died, stranding her in storylines with several of the show's dullest characters: nu-Paul, nu-Meg, and nu-Dusty. I actually quite liked one of her last major storylines, when she discovered she had a grown-up biological son with Larry named Hunter. But then Hunter just sort of disappeared, and the story fizzled out, which was pretty typical of the late Goutman years.
    • I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.
    • Well, her staff pointing out the movie connection never seemed to stop Long from using those plots.  She was right about Vanessa--she needed a man who loved her, which she'd never really had up to then. But as others have pointed out, Long borrowed heavily from Taming of the Shrew to get it done. (which while I kinda disputed that, I get more now, having watched Kiss Me Kate a few times since.)
