The camera thing with the girls is stupid in a way but I don't see the reality angle here. It doesn't say they are recording it for a show but for school. I have a feeling they will end up catching something illegal on tape or something. There has to be a reason behind that and there is no indication of a reality show angle yet.

If we do get another "Love is Blind," blame Corday. I still think that kind of crap is all him. I am not a Higley supporter, even though I am liking Days right now, but I do think some can ease up a bit on the "Dena Higley Apocalypse" is coming brigade. I know her past and I know what she did but I do think it's only fair to wait until we see things play out or at least know more before getting too upset. Afterall, this spoiler came from the daily spoilers for next week and is nothing but a blurb. We don't know how it will play yet.

I am enjoying Tony and Anna, but could care less about Morgan & Stephanie.

I am enjoying Max.

Ava is a charicature.

Dr. Jonas is laughable.

John is painful.

Bo & Hope are great.

I hate losing Belle & Shawn.

Mixing Philip with Tony and John is smart.

Really the show is such a mixed bag right now.

Sorry. I'm tired of that and I'm tired of being told I should give Dena a chance. Maybe if I hadn't seen Higley destroy OLTL, I would agree with you. I gave her the benefit of doubt when she first joined OLTL. I defended her even when people told me I was crazy to do so. Their predictions came true. I refuse to ease up on the "Dena Higley Apocalypse" because it's my right as a soap fan to be unhappy that this hack is writing for one of my favorite shows.

I'm sick of trying to be optimistic about DAYS and Dena. Call me bitter if you want, but Dena's a hack and I'll say that until the end of time. She needs to go. The quality of DAYS has suffered since she (oh wait, excuse me, her husband and best friend) has been writing the show. DAYS was perfectly fine storyline wise before Hogan was fired. Dena and the scabs came in, changed [!@#$%^&*]. Hogan's material stopped airing and she hacked up (all puns intended) his outlines to try and suit her agenda.

Give it time, all the people on the "Give Dena a Chance" bandwagon will be calling for her head within a few months.

It's 1:00 in the afternoon. Do you know where most of the DAYS fans are? I do, they ain't watching this [!@#$%^&*].

<~~~not a DH fan or supporter. not really giving her a chance. i just feel that the DAYS i see right now is the best i have seen, for more than an episode or two, since... the start of the baby switch.

will DH keep it up? no.

will the show suck again? yes, perhaps more than ever.

but to be honest, idk who is writing as long as it is good. and right now, i find it good. as for the dialoge, yeah it sucks. but if i had to chose between a boring or crappy show with great dialoge, or a good interesting show with crappy dialoge, i will be the second no contest. the drama, emotion, and connections that have come out of this BO/Chelsea storyline are amazing. the acting is flawless. the storyline is good, for the most part. so no, i do not care about crappy dialoge because for years now i have wanted an emotional storyline about characters i love. and right now, days - and dena - have given me that.

but as i have said before, Days is my abusive boyfriend. It beats me down and makes me question life and how i could be so committed to something so crappy. Then i decide to walk away only for it to suck me back in and be great again for a bit. Then the cycle starts over.

anyways, point of this ramble... DH sucks. bitch is a hack and ruined days her first time and almost took OLTL beyond repair. I hate her. she deserves no slack, so chances, no benefit of the doubt. but i am loving days right now.

The pretty much for me starting going down hill after Grandpa Shawn died. The 3 day funeral/wake was fantastic - and then it all went south. Bo's mysterious illness is killin' me over here - like I said before - save him or kill him. It's dragging for me and it's on EVERY DAY. It's the only story that's really playing right now. And I love Bo/Hope, but every day is a bit much for me.

Is Kayla still pregnant? Where's Ava? Sami? Tony? Anna?

Instead I'm watching a whole week and a half worth of Brady's by Bo's bedside waiting for him to die? Diversity, people! Balance? It's quite a concept. And I thought DAYS was on an upswing .... apparently not. I quit watching in October of 2003 when everyone sent to the island, and it looks like I'll be quitting again. It doesn't entertain me - 'cept for the eye candy - but I can get that on Y&R.

Ryan, I totally agree with you. I hated Dena Higley's first run even worse than the Langan teen invasion, and I'm already becoming bored and frustrated with her second run. I haven't watched live in two weeks and go through the episode on my DVR in about 15 minutes. I've loved DAYS almost my entire life and could never give up on it completely, but right now I'm very pessimistic about the show. It had improved so much with Ed Scott's arrival, Hogan's stories were interesting, the dialogue was top notch, and I was excited to see each episode. Now I don't care if I even watch. I've broken my no spoiler rule and read upcoming spoilers and there's nothing there to excite me. IMO, it's all predictable and Dena is following her normal, terrible pattern, with the same kind of horrible, boring, godawful storylines.

This is Dena Higley's second chance at being the HW on DAYS, and I don't have to give her a break. SHE has to prove herself to ME, and she hasn't done that yet. When and if she does, I will apologize and send her flowers, but I don't think that will be happening.

Ryan, ITA. Higley may get off to an okay start at DAYS, but she's going to end up pushing it even further into the crapper, which isnt a good thing when Corday will probably need to get the show in good shape in order to start shopping it around to other networks just in case (probably) NBC doesnt renew it. Erika Slezak summed it up perfectly when she said Higley "wants to write stories that she thinks are interesting but nobody else does." I'd take Lynn Marie Latham over Higley any day to be honest.

Everyone has a right to their opinion. My point was that we don't know as of yet what this spoiler is. In no way does this mean reality show. I've read the spoiler. It can mean a number of things. It sounds more like a school project then anything else and may lead to something else or play into something else.

Just like Days under Hogan or anyone else...I always say wait and watch for yourself before judging anything. It's up to each person whether they actually do it or not but I always maintain it's unfair to judge ANYTHING until you see it. These are only words and actions speak louder then them. I don't give a rat's ass who is writing. Like JP said, this is about the here and now. I've read that in several threads...it's about what these shows are doing for us lately and right now Days is far from trash. I laugh when people find the balance off. Where? Caroline and Victor are being given more airtime then they have in forever. Bo, Hope, John, Marlena, Steve, Kayla, Lexie, Roman, and others are all front-burner. Those are all the big characters many clamored for. Tony and Anna are never going to be on more then they are. It is what it is and it was like that last month and no one complained either.

It just bugs me when so many advocate for vets and stories with them and they get it and it's not enough. Yes, the show isn't perfect. Yes, Higley could still mess up. Yes, the dialogue is bad on most days and the pace is slow right now (this is still scab episodes so I think that should be noted as it has affected many shows and still is). However, this week has featured great drama with the Bo/Chelsea story and I am very happy to see the whole Brady family involved. It's family drama like this people said they wanted and I am loving it. Not everything is perfect but what is?

The show is far from perfect and I would much rather have Hogan but Higley's stuff isn't really in full effect yet. I have no confidence in her either but right now I like what I see and hear. Of course, that is a matter of opinion. I know what she did at Days the first time and at OLTl. I don't blame anyone for having no trust in her. All I am saying is I get a sense that if this were anyone else writing the reactions would be different. That's all. If that is the case, that is fine. I just feel like creative changes aren't even enough to help the soaps now. I think we are past that point and I think the situation is never getting better so I will take my soaps while I have them, even if they aren't what they should (although I feel OLTL, Y&R, and Days are pretty damn good).

I also want to apologize if I was too harsh. I just hate seeing rushes to judgment, no matter who the writer is. I just think everything should be given a fair chance until proven otherwise and, so far, I don't see how Higley has proven otherwise...yet.

    • She painfully sticks out, it’s awful. I can’t believe the producers don’t see this.
    • Deidre Hall did really well in that last scene hearing about them closing in on John. John's funeral is going to be tough to watch.
    • And this is why I use a different video hosting site. It's interesting to me that on IG Sony only hits current not vintage. Also there's no penalty as long as you delete.
    • Are we sure we're not going to go down a Natalia Grace storyline here?

    • Probably. Stephanie is still so underdeveloped as a character to me.  She jumps from romance to romance and I feel like she takes on the persona and interests of the man she is with at the moment.  I don't really know her interests or personality.  And Stephanie certainly gets enough airtime to explore more than sex with Alex. I know she was interacting with Kayla today, but a lot of the dialogue was "Alex asked", "Alex thinks..", "Alex is now free so I have to go" lol.  What do you think about anything, Stephanie?
    • May 2025:   New Pope, Leo XIV is chosen in Rome, while the Italian Open tennis tournament is happening in Rome. The headline is "Sinner meets the Pope"  or  "Pope meets Sinner". LOL, this is tennis player Jannik Sinner. He met with Pope Leo and gave him a tennis racket. Leo plays tennis himself and is a tennis fan. (He is also a Chicago Cubs baseball fan).    https://apnews.com/article/pope-leo-jannik-sinner-tennis-italian-open-9305b5f2957ac15c7a405f836371ec1e The top-ranked tennis player visited the new pope on Wednesday, gave him a tennis racket and offered to play, during an off day for Sinner at the Italian Open. Leo, the first American pope, is an avid tennis player and fan and had said earlier this week that he would be up for a charity match when it was suggested by a journalist. But at the time, Leo joked “we can’t invite Sinner,” an apparent reference to the English meaning of Sinner’s last name. By Wednesday, all seemed forgotten. “It’s an honor,” Sinner said in Italian as he and his parents arrived in a reception room of the Vatican’s auditorium. Holding one of his rackets and giving Leo another and a ball, the three-time Grand Slam champion suggested a quick volley. But the pope looked around at the antiques and said, “Better not.” Leo, a 69-year-old from Chicago, then appeared to joke about his white cassock and its appropriateness for Wimbledon, perhaps a reference to the All England Club’s all-white clothing rule.

    • I still can’t help but think that this was all Ron and Paula/Jeanne just decided to run with it.  Maybe it’ll improve over time
    • Anything, but this non-story.  Who cares if Stephanie publishes her Danielle Steel novel or not?  Maybe Joy will be back sooner or later with the baby. Last Chance Sale at Nordstrom rack.  I bet JJ has one too. Yeah.  For some reason I thought they shuttered the whole Publishing department after that.

And so, yes, the Black audience is leading here, but there’s a whole lot of other kinds of folks who are tuning in, too,” she said.
