Well that didn't take long. Ricky Paull Goldin, who it was only recently announced is exiting Guiding Light when his deal runs out later this month, has been cast on All My Children in the contract role of Dr. Jake Martin.

Jake, of course, is the younger brother of Tad, and in his last two incarnations was played by Michael Lowry and J. Eddie Peck's impeccable hair. Jake's love interests have included Liza, Gillian and (of course) Greenlee.

Goldin, who cut his daytime teeth on Another World back in the day, is expected to make his AMC debut by the end of April.

But honestly, the show needs to give up on Tad/Krystal and go for Adam/Krystal...I have never seen chemistry between Tad/Krystal but it explodes off the charts with Adam/Krystal

I love Babe but I hate Krystal. HATE HER. Adam had more chemistry with Liza than Krystal. Krystal is just a trashy, dumb down version of "Liza" for Adam and Tad to fight over.

On this I agree. I think Adam's true love will always be Brooke but, if it is not her, then it would definitely be Liza. Adam/Liza were a force to be reckoned with along with major chemistry between David Canary and Marcy Walker

I find it funny that they had both Chandler men and both Carey women get married. I call both Adam/Krystal and JR/Babe "Bonnie and Clyde Chandler"

I'll ask it again, as ratings continue to tank, where on earth are they getting the $$$ for all these high-profile hires? The fat they trimmed so far has been negligible (Branson and Musser). RPG doesn't come cheap. Now I'm really worried for Sydney Penny. She's the only costly actress on the show without much of a storyline.

I don't think B&E are going anywhere. I think they made a deal with the devil to stay with AMC long term! They wouldn't have gone FiCore during the strike and risked not being hired by other shows if they thought their positions with AMC weren't very tightly secure. Their well-done Jesse/Angie reunion has gotten the show its first really positive press in ages (though I highly suspect Agnes is guiding this storyline from afar) and has enabled the show to remain at least competitive in the HH ratings and demos. I wouldn't be shocked to see Latham or Sheffer show up as story consultant or co-head writer, but I think B&E are here for the long haul.
