Did we know this? It came from the GL e-mail from Ricky today

To my friends and extended family,

I want you to be one of the first to know that I’m planning on

leaving

“Guiding Light” when my contract expires in a couple of weeks.

“Gus” has

been a huge part of my life and I will really miss portraying him and

bringing this character to life for you. My seven years on Guiding

Light

have been a wonderful experience. Now it’s time for a new adventure,

a

new chapter in my life. I will especially miss working with Beth

Ehlers,

since it doesn’t get any better than “Gus and Harley.”

Thank you! It means so much to me that you have shown your continued

love

and support for me and the character of “Gus.” I hope that you

will

continue to write with your thoughts and ideas. You can still email me

at

this email address, at least for the next few months.

I am sure that the powers-that-be at Guiding Light would love to hear

from

you as well. It is always good to let them know how you feel. That,

of

course, is your right.

You can write to them at:

Guiding Light

CBS-TV

51 West 52nd Street

New York, NY 10019

I will keep you up to date on my future projects on my website:

www.rickypaullgoldin.com

I also want to thank you for all the cards and emails that I have

received

in regards to my father’s passing. It really meant the world to me.

So stay tuned and I’ll be back real soon, just wait and see! It

won’t be

long!

All my love and deep felt appreciation,

Ricky

So this was the big actor leaving. I never liked Gus. So no biggie for me. GL sucks and I dont see it getting better ever again.

I like the guy (and character). It doesn't break my heart or anything though.

I'd love for them to bring Danny back though (without Michelle please, somehow).

I wish him well.

I don't think anyone is surprised about this, given the show's treatment of the character.

Not surprised. It was a mistake making him a Spaulding first of all, and then he has been absolutely atrocious in this ridiculous story with first Natalia then Olivia.

No big news there but thank you for posting the official statement from the actor. I remember during he Weston/Conboy era, it was Harley and Gus right in your face 4 or 5 times a week. Then came in the GusH fans and it all went to hell from there. And Gus being a Spaulding was incredibly stupid. And Harley and Gus parading around New York City in an Ice Cream truck trying to find Phillip's murderer was even more pathetic for the GusH fans to have an adventure.

I wonder if they're going to write the character off or are they going to recast?

I can't blame him for leaving. It's obvious he doesn't seem to like his story, and wanted to be paired with Beth again. I hope he finds other work. I may have hated Gus, but RPG is a good actor IMO. He'll end up on ABC I'm sure.

Can someone post the links where RPG says he thinks Gl botched his character and that he is truly unhappy at GL and that he does not like working with CC?

I am surprised he said that stuff in the media, but then again, nothing surprises me....please post the links where he actually said all of the above!

Thanks guys!

So, no one can provide proof as to anything that is said here

I thought this board was to provide the truth only, not rumors, speculation, etc.
