A good friend of mine works in New York as an assistant to an actress involved in a lot of stage work. Anyway I recently found out his freind at work plays Val on AMC, it came out recently when he mentioned his friend was suddenly called into AMC because the black actress who usually works as Erica's producer on her tv show was occupied and they needed a replacement (this was yesterday's show).

Anyway I've always been a fan of the character--and found out he's also a pretty well known drag queen in New York...

Apparantly he's been filming a few more scenes this week (I guess he gave up on acting a whil ego as a profession but AMC still keeps him on recurring--Val's been on for 8+ years hasn't he? I still remember when he walked out crying carrying Erica's huge portrait...)

Not too big on drag queens but if he has fun doing it, more power to him.

Yes, and I always thought her name was “Carl” because of Susan Lucci’s pronunciation. I only found out it wasn’t back in the late ‘90s when I accidentally pushed CLOSED CAPTION on the remote. Coral was seen a few times in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s, from what I remember. I always pictured her as some heavyset woman from Barbados with a thick accent, but was shocked to see she was some young thin thing.

Looks like he'll be on this week - in the previews here it said that Erica asks Val to do something. It might just be a phone call, but we'll see.
