Members Noel
That's the thing that I love so much about DAYS is that Ken Corday listens to his viewers. Well...he's not a Mr. "Let me wave my magic wand and listen to every viewer and make it better!" kind of Executive Producer, but he's aware of what fans truly want. The #8 slot in the ratings after Passions moved to DirecTV kind of proved that. And for GL to briefly surpass DAYS in the ratings, then you know your beloved show is in trouble! J/K. Yes..I feel DAYS is back on track, but I don't want to jinx it!
Members Roman
What I love is that Ken Corday seems to have been pushed aside, and ES, thorugh Sony, is letting the writers write. Whoever is now ghost writing Days is truly doing a wonderful job with Hogan's outlines, and the farther away Ken Corday stays from DOOL's stories, the better the show will be. That man is nothing but poison.
Members Noel
You're right, Roman. I keep forgetting about Edward Scott. How could I forget about him when DAYS LOOKS so much better as far as lighting etc. ???? Why oh why did I have to somewhat give Corday some credit? Members Roman
No problem. That's jst my opinion. The show is now light years ahead of where it was 6 months ago, and is the best it's been in years. Now, if Drake Hogestyn would stop with the "I'm-The-Greatest-Eyebrow-Actor-Of-All-Time" crap, and stop bad-mouthing ES and HS (even though it is his opinion and he's entitled to it), Days would truly be on track. Administrator Toups Posted January 14, 2008 Administrator Share Posted January 14, 2008 Yup, it's getting a lot better. Mainly because the veterans are now front and centre. Also, the storylines are better and people seem to be involved in other storyline (ie. Philip helping Lucas, Chloe in the Dimera mystery, etc). I'm just scared that after Hogan's material ends, the Fi-Core writers will screw things up. I hope I am wrong and that they'll be able to keep DAYS on a roll. They should be able to do well for the first couple weeks to a month because Hogan leaves them in a very good position. After that, I will hope for the best. Members SoapQueen89
I have to wholeheartedly agree with you guys - Days certainly seems to be on it's way back to be a drama to be reckoned with! And I am ecstatic! This show has improved so much over the past 6 months, it's truly awesome to see just how much! I came back to watching Days because of the vets and because Days was giving airtime to those I was interested in. I love how this show gives Marlena, Bo, Hope, Steve, Kayla, even Maggie small bits in the younger set's storylines - on other shows that doesn't happen. It's refreshing to see parents involved in their kid's lives and when those kids find themselves in trouble they go to their parents or someone in authority like the police instead of the local mobster. The writing for Days gives many POV instead of just one, and it's not plot point to plot point either, it's about the characters and their history with each other and the show. When was the last time an ABC show *coughGHcough* celebrating someone's birthday or anniversary? I can tell you - it's been YEARS! You have to give credit where credit is due - this show has come from the bottom of the barrel in ratings and it now sits at #4 - which is awesome! I am looking forward to some great DAYS ahead!! Members KevC1980
Yes, the show has improved leaps and bounds over the past month...Its so refreshing seeing the vets back in the forefront..I would still like to see Tony, Anna, Lexie, Steve and Kayla with stories though...Hopefully that happens soon, as they were all mentioned in the 2008 previews.. Members PhoenixRising05
Do you have any idea when about Hogan's material ends? I agree. The show IMO has found it's element and is delivering everyday now. The right people are on everyday, the balance is good, and every scene has a meaning and a purpose. You just can't miss a day. They need to keep up this pace IMO. It will keep viewers watching knowing they can't miss any day. The acting, directing, and writing has been superb. The music has improved ALOT. We have people crossing over into stories with their family like Philip helping Lucas and having scenes with Sami, the Shawn/Chloe/Philip/Belle stuff being tied in with John/Marlena, etc. Now they just need to get Tony, Anna, Abe, Lexie. Steve, and Kayla more involved like they promised in SOD's 2008 previews and they will be set. I hope this keeps up because this is the best the show has been in years. Administrator Toups Posted January 14, 2008 Administrator Share Posted January 14, 2008 Late January/Early February. Yeah, thank God for Ed Scott. The production values have soared. I'm glad he told Corday to not produce any more of that techno-sh!t. LOL
Members MichaelGL
OMG, the music is AMAZING. Days is the best soap right now production wise.
Members PhoenixRising05
I know . Wow, right before sweeps. That is worrisome. I heard some of the things that are going to happen and your right, it is a good position. I just hope they can keep the intensity up since some of the stuff is HUGE. I am a bit more confident with Ed Scott here since the writing has tended to be better since he came along so I have confidence in him and the actors to keep things going well. Hopefully, the scabs at least have a history with the show and understand the situation that the future of the show depends alot on them.
Members NYC123
I think is good but far from perfect. The writing has improved. It is more character driven and the vertern actors are getting their own storyline. The thing I am scared about is that Hogan will screw it up agian after the writer strikes end.. Also the production value has been so much better!
Members heatherwebber
No! Still way too much fake Stephanie and the fraternity chicks. I'd take the whole pack of them over this Stephanie, frankly, but I'd take just about anything over her. There seems to be quite a lot on the show that's just not working which is annoying. Fortunately they're amping up the Stefano stuff which is mighty good. That's all headed in the right direction. The Belle-Philip stuff, Sean, etc., story seems to be mostly good. They don't seem to be able to come up with something interesting for Kayla & Steve so they're doing this silly get pregnant stuff. I'm still perplexed by the absence of the real Roman Wayne, the complete absence of Lexie, the complete back-burnering of Abe, Maggie's disappearance (especially all this in the light of the annoyingly large amount of airtime of that horrible fake Stephanie junk) and the loss of that hunky Jeremy. All in all it's a rocky ride. Not all horrible but certainly not where it ought to be. They need Sheri Anderson. They really do. She wouldn't be putting up with any of the nonsense and she'd clear out all the iffy stuff.
Members sema608
Yes, Days is finally back on track and I want it to stay that way. Everything's delicious! My favorite part are the integration of the storylines. I love the fact that Phillip remembers Lucas is his brother. I'm glad these characters aren't isolated. I just hope that the scab writers will keep the ball rolling when Hogan's material ends. If anything, I hope the writers' strike ends really soon.
