November 4, 200817 yr Member Watching CNN now.....McCain is campaigning in CO today? That's not a good sign, is it? And I just don't like Cindy McCain. Now he's saying that he's "fixed" Social Security? When did that happen? Did I miss something?
November 4, 200817 yr Member Yes, McCain did a short stop in Colorado as Obama did in Indiana both are trying to turn the state from its current status in their favor.

I didn't realize Obama was campaigning today as well. I have seen one set of Obama volunteers walking around the neighborhood. They haven't knocked on my door yet, but regardless....I'm off to vote!!! I'm so excited!! I'll check back in here when I get home.
November 4, 200817 yr Member You have added a lot of value to this forum, UCLAN. It wouldn't have been the same without you. If Obama is fortunate enough to be elected President, I have a feeling that I will sit down and weep - tears of joy. Thanks GGL I enjoyed your input alot. Have fun voting. I miss the lines and excitement of the polling place. The link to the watching history from the porch was very moving. I know my dad and all of my family is excited for this day. My brother is having an election party so we can watch the results tonight. Unfortunately my mom is too ill to be aware of this historic event Again, it was a pleasure posting with you all
November 4, 200817 yr Member Come on, America, don't screw this up. The world is counting on you. I was watching CNN while getting ready for work this am. I am now going to open up another browser and keep it on CNN. All phone and newspaper polls that there has been in Australia on who we would vote for have had Obama winning all of them by over 50%.

I saw that on CNN while I was getting ready for work, but they did add that if Obama thought that he didn't have a chance then he wouldn't have gone there, and they showed him on the phone mentioning that he was helping in calling people. They also mentioned something about him having a game of basketball.
November 4, 200817 yr Member ^Its Obama's tradition to play basketball on an election day. During one primary he didn't and he lost so its because essential, lol. Comedy Central is having a Daily Show/Colbert report marathon all day. Edited November 4, 200817 yr by jcar03

With McCain it's his tradition to go to the movies on Election Day - which he decided to skip this time in order to campaign in two states.

No waiting - I was in and out in 30 minutes. I'M SO EXCITED!! I wish my Mother Dear could be here to see this. She passed a couple years ago and I miss her everyday. I just know that she would have been absolutely thrilled to vote for Obama. I believe that she was right there with me in the voting booth, standing beside me with a smile on her face.

I was in and out in about 2 minutes. Didn't have to show ID - just had to sign 2 forms and put my street address on one of them. There was no one in front of me and there were 4 voting machines with almost no one there. I'm reading lots of reports about problems with voting machines, paper ballots and every other thing you can think of including voter suppression, especially (of course) in the battleground states.
November 4, 200817 yr Member CNN Voting Problem Hot Line has a lot of problems coming in are from Pennsylvania where some people are finding their names off the registrations rolls.
November 4, 200817 yr Member 5 hours. The finest 5 hours of the last 20 years for me. For the first, and quite possibly only time, I voted for a person of color to become the next President Of The United States Of America. A truly splendid moment. One I will remember until my last day on Earth. I live in a small town and was able to walk in and walk out in two minutes. I stood there in the booth and let the significance of the moment really hit me. How amazing it was that I could vote for either a black man or a woman as President or Vice-President respectively. We are making history today. I am so proud right now to be American.
November 4, 200817 yr Member First Exit polls at 5pm from CNN Economy most important issue I am just amazed at the lines. I am so waiting up all night
