I was watching a discussion about her debate preparation on CNN and a couple of the analysts said the expectations were low and a third said it shouldn't be for that position. The main thing she needs to do is seem comfortable and not totally scripted and I think she will do that with no problem.

The low expectation factor will probably benefit her more with some members of the media who may be impressed if she does better than they think, but since she needs to make an impression on the Independents then exceeding low expectations might not be enough. I still think she has to appear to have a real grasp on whatever comes up in the debate.

The only way the Senate can pass that bill before the House is if someone amends the Constitution between now and Wednesday. That bill MUST originate in the House.

I thought the interview was comical. It was so bad it was funny. When she was asked about the economic meltdown, it was horrible. I actually felt sorry for her. She appeared to have no confidence.

You know, Katie Couric did fine. I didn't think she bullied her and in fact asked pretty predictable questions.

ITA Katie was fine. Those question's about the economy and Alaska were fine. It was Palins answers that were terrible, she started of saying one thing and then she went to something completely different that had nothing what so ever to do with the question.

It's always the interviewer's fault.

The only person you haven't heard about giving her a bad interview is the "Fair & Balanced" Sean Hannity.

We get a lot of the presidental stuff on Cable TV here in Australia, Fox New's, CNN, and there is what I watch on clips as well.

It has gotten to the point that every time Palin opens her mouth I start to cringe.

I guess the republican's need to lay the blame somewhere, they just won't admit that McCain made the wrong choice in Palin.

But then again if I was allowed to vote there is no way that I would vote for McCain no matter who he chose as I get a bad vibe from him everytime I see him or hear him speak. He reminds me far to much of Bush.

The Senate passing the bill first does not make it law..the bill will have to pass both branches....its does not matter in which order..

Just because the bill originates in the House does not mean they have to vote first..

Maybe it was because they tuned out McCain....

Because Nielsen ratings have reported that the section that scored the least viewers? In McCain's own home state of Arizona.

Perhaps the lower ratings stem from the fact it was on a Friday night. I remember someone bringing that up on this board previously.

I watched it again and thought it was hilarious....especially that McCain went to get things done when he suspended his campaign but then he didn't want to sit around at the pizza session since it would become partisan. Things like this ought to be part of an instructional video showing kids how it looks when you constantly lie.

It's unfortunately a given that politicians lie but McCain and his campaign have introduced a whole new level of lying that's difficult to even put into words.

That whole Pakistan argument to which he's determined to hold on is just another example of how his stubborness is out of control.....so now it's the "gotcha" media that's responsible for Palin answering a question (that gives her an Obama position and a position that Bush ended up adopting this year) even though it was not asked by a voter who is not part of the media.

That would be me. I didn't think that Friday was a good night on which to hold a debate. Any other week day is better with Tuesday-Thursday being the best.

I think this week's debate is on an ideal night and should do a lot better....especially due to the curiosity factor and since there is only one VP debate.

And I don't think that the ratings should be seen as an indication of how people feel about this election. Some people are simply not interested in debates and don't find them beneficial. I'm sure anyone who has made up his/her mind and aren't interested in debates, have less incentive to spend time watching one....especially on a Friday night.
