As far as getting things done Biden is the best choice , there were some more sexer choices out there but the Country would be very safe in Joe's hand.

From what i hear if and When team Obama wins Biden's some is going to takeover his seat.

Keith Olbermann said last night that they had cameras in front of John McCain's house, but they couldn't figure out which one he was at......

Then showed 9 shots of houses, everything from a Castle in Great Britain to the Tash Mahal in India to a shack in the middle of nowhere. I'm still laughing about that one.

This is the best pick he could make. There was no way he would pick HRC, and JB only has one problem........his mouth. Sometimes he doesn't know when to shut up, but did a outstanding job these past three weeks. He's an everyman and a attack dog.........he'll say the things Obama just can't say.

I think obama made a smart decision. I think hillary knew since last week or whatever week it was when she started saying she wanted to be on roll call. I'm scared for obama though because isn't BC suppose to speak at the convention? I think hillary has taken it very well and I hope obama finds some place for her. I think the GOP is just upset that hillary isn't vp because they have so many things on the clintons to rip her and obama's campaign to shreds.

BC can be the spoiled child all he wants. But, IMO, if he gets up there this week and makes an ass of himself, not only will he damage his legacy for good, he will screw HRC's chances of not only running for higher office again, but maybe for even keeping her seat in the Senate.

JB can get in JM and MR's backsides (Everything that I'm now hearing is that he will choose Romney as his VP). And.......Biden isn't scared to get down to brass tax. Obama for some reason is not playing hard ball, and the only reason I can think of is that he feels he can't come off as the Angry Black Man to many moderate voters.

GOP had a Hillary attack in the works for 4 years.

All they can say about Biden is that he's better than Obama.

I just read that Bieden is one of the poorest members of the Senate. Unlike most members he hasn't used his connections to make him or his Family rich.

He Wife Jill is a Teacher and his Son is heading off to war.

Heck he drives a pickup truck to dump and does his own yardwork.

You know, if they win.......I'll drive him to DC myself. To take a train for 30 years so that he can raise his kids and doesn't have to uproot them.......that speaks volumes to me.

And, if the worst they can say is that he once said harsh words about Obama.......

Then damn. "It's really hard for John McCain........after all, he can't figure out which of his 7 tables to sit at."

That is the stuff Obama either can't or is afraid to say.

All through after today i think Biden&McCain's friendship may be over!

I totally want 8 years of Obama/Biden and then 4 years of Biden/?.

Unlike McCain i'm sure a 73 year old Biden would agree to only 1 term.

I hope to hear his wife speak soon , heard nothing but good things about her.

I personally think that this choice was a big mistake for the following reasons:

1. Putting Biden (who has been in the Senate for 36 years) on the ticket completely undermines Obama's main message that he is an agent of change.

2. Biden himself has previously made statements to the effect that Obama is too inexperienced to become president.

3. By placing Biden on the ticket, Obama is implictly acknowledging that he (Obama) is sorely lacking in the areas of experience and foreign policy expertise. In other words, it looks like an act of desperation on Obama's part (similar to how Bush placing Cheney on the ticket looked like an act of desperation on his part).

4. As mentioned earlier, Biden often says foolish things and has a tendency to go off message.

5. There have been incidents where Biden's own integrity has been called into question, such as when he plagarized a speech (originally given by a British politicain) during his 1988 campaign for president.

6. Biden provides no help to Obama when it comes to gathering more votes: his home state of Delaware is already very Democratic, and Biden's showing in the 2008 presidential primaries was microscopic.

Personally, I think that both Evan Bayh and Tim Kaine were much better choices for Obama: Bayh himself was very experienced (having served ten years in the Senate and eight years as governor before that), was a Clinton supporter in the primaries (which would have helped Obama ease tensions with her supporters), and would have turned his home state of Indiana (which is normally very Republican) into a battleground state. And, while not as appealing as Bayh, Kaine would have re-enforced Obama's message of change, is somebody who has a great personal relationship with Obama, and would have likely been able to place his home state of Virginia into the Obama column in November. (Of course, the down side with Kaine is that he--like Obama--is very inexperienced, having been governor for just two years. Nevertheless, his negatives pale in comparasion to Biden's.)

Finally, I'd like to say that I agree with those of you who thought Clinton would have been the worst possible choice for Obama to choose as his running mate: Although she might have helped Obama in the election, she still was a terrible choice because (1) she and Obama hate each other, (2) her focus as the VP candidate would be to prop herself up for the 2012 election, as opposed to helping Obama win this election, and (3) she would have brought her husband--and all of his problems--along with her. However, while Obama was right not to select her, he still made a big mistake in not vetting her: according to all of the cable news channels, Obama did not meet with her (in regards to the VP selection) or even ask her for her personal records. By not going through these motions, Obama has pissed off Clinton's supporters even more.

Picking someone who is better than you at something is a sign of a leader.

Biden as been there working for the people not himself.

He knows how to get things done.

All Fox can come up to bash him with is that Biden/Obama won't make a good team becaus eBiden has a cat and the Obama's are getting a dog.

If Obama has picked some newcomer then the Repugs would be bashing that.

Biden is WAY better on the world stage than McCain and there's nothing her can say to cahnge that.

A good CEO is only as good as his number 2 and Biden is pretty darn good.

Biden takes the train home every night while McCain flyes around in his jet trying to figure where he lives.
