One would think the whole fi-core debacle steered them clear from the night's festivities.

Didn't see Gary there either, and I believe he's based in LA.

THey'll get them. They get UPS'ed to you if you're not in attendance. Everyone on the ballot will get them. I'm trying to think if there's anyone left besides Dena, Gary, Michelle and Fran. Toups? Was anyone else missing? (Besides Veronica Sandbridge :lol: :lol: )

ETA: WGA Awards won't be received - but the Academy has nothing to do with the writers' guild.

OH, I'm sick at the thought of JHC helming Y&R. She has destroyed my second-favorite soap and hate to know what she'd do my favorite soap. Hell, I'd think I'd take the second coming of John Conboy over her.

Are you kidding? I never even had to hear him speak. The minute I saw his pic last year that Tony night lavender clutch was evident.

You forgot Mark Christopher Higley, Victor Gialanella and Leslie Nipkow (who wrote both scripts that won them the Emmy; Ron wrote both breakdowns). Gary wasn't nominated.

Right! Well, Mark and Victor fall under the fi-core issue. And I doubt they'd pay for a ticket for Leslie, since she works for a competing show.

Sadly, classic Y&R is dead. Someone/People at Y&R/Sony/CBS doesn't want people from the Bill Bell era to come back (just my guess). :(

I'm afraid that you are right and we must just accept it and move on. :( I just don't get it why they would want to "modernize" a show that has remained #1 due to the fact that it stayed true to itself....

I guess we got what? 30-32 years of classic Y&R, more than any other soap can claim, possibly. Now if only we could get the episodes released on DVD....

Don't forget, Bloom is actively courting her old ABC friends to take over the EP position at Y&R. The thought of JHC at Y&R makes me want to induce vomiting.

So I guess we can safely say that she is trying to ABCify the daytime shows (only she doesn't really have any power over B&B). Because Y&R did sooooo badly when it was anything but an ABC clone.

I don't know what Bloom wants, she's been nothing but a cancer to the CBS Daytime lineup. I miss Lucy Johnson, she loved those shows and didn't try to make them something they weren't. Honestly, Bloom background is with the ABC soaps, she'd be much better doing Frons' job.

However, Y&R does need a new EP BADLY. I'm glad that they're acknowledging that. Let's hope the right person is ultimately hired (though, its doubtful).

I'm afraid there's been a slew of bad hirings ever since Latham.... They ARE good in recognizing a problem but TERRIBLE at the way of solving it.
