So what does it mean that they were demoted? Is that them eliminating the Breakdown position? Would we now be seeing them compete for script writing slots before the axe swings?

Yeah, elimination of the breakdown position.

I must say, I'm happy to see Brash demoted. I will forever hate him after he turned down my well thought out question for his ITZ interview. IMO, a person with integrity would be able to defend their work. All I asked was why viewers should look forward to their return post strike. Judging by how much worse the show is now, I see why he'd dodge the question. If he or Tom Casiello or anyone else thinks Jean Passanante, Leah Laiman and other hacks are good writers, give me specific reasons why? Not "Oh gosh, I got my first break" or "They're my current employer." What story did Passanante or Laiman write that blew you away?

Sometimes, you gotta be political, man. Sometimes, you can be honest and sometimes you have to keep your mouth shut. If writers avoid answering some questions, don't take it personal.

I don't know. If someone says "I got my first break from them" or "I like working for them now", I think (by reading between the lines) you can basically take that to mean "I don't like their stories, but they were nice to work for and they helped me out". I've found most writers will RAVE about a head writer's stories if they love their stuff, but if they don't, they find another way to answer the question.

Would you rip your boss a new one on radio for anyone to download to and listen to down the road? I know I wouldn't.

You mean the Holden/Carly pairing didnt blow you away? Or the Liberty/Janet/Brad/Katie storyline is not blowing you away? Or Luke falling in love with a guy he knows for 2 seconds just because he thinks he is hot?? How could you not be blown away by Pissant's writing? Ends sarcasm.

I think JP has a lot to offer when she's paired with the right person. (NOT Leah Laiman) Same with LL. I don't think either are untalented, I just think they probably make better breakdown writers/script writers/consultants than head writers. But I don't think they're unable to bring ANYTHING to the table. Leah wrote during some of my favorite years of Days, and Jean wrote during some of my favorite years of OLTL. And I liked some of their stuff on AW - like the Grant Harrison murder mystery, which I thought was paced out pretty well, with a great culprit at the end.

I just don't think either one has what it takes to head write a show like ATWT, especially with someone dictating to them like CG. It's just a bad combination all around.

ETA: I know I've probably incurred Soapsuds and PJ's wrath with this. Sorry, guys. Just trying to be objective. :)

In today's SOD online, Darin Brooks (Max, DOOL), says this:

Weekly: What was your reaction when you learned veteran daytime star Roscoe Born (Trent) had been cast as your dad?

Brooks: I actually didn't know until a couple of days before he started. The producers were kind of keeping it under wraps. Ed Scott (co-executive producer), Noel Maxam (supervising producer) and Kathy Foster (director) kept coming up to me, going, "So, are you excited? You know who your father is going to be, right?" I'd say, "No, nobody told me yet." They'd say, "Oh, okay. Never mind. Just know that we're excited, and it will be good. He's a really good actor."

Honestly, I didn't pay enough attention to Toups' list.

It's just WRONG that these people are at DOOL. Y&R is dying, and needs these people back.

Especially since they're being wasted on sub-par storylines.

No, let them stay at DOOL! Can you imagine what Dena would be churning out without them there!

DOOL seems more "stable" than Y&R these days so maybe they are happy where they are watching the fun and games from a distance lol.

I see where you are coming froma nd what you are saying, hell i even agree with you BUT... these poeple want to work in this buisness. they want a job. they want to keep the job they have. etc. sometimes that means not saying what they want to say and having to 'play the game' if you will. I know when people ask me about my employer i dont say what i want to say, i lie. I tell them 'oh blah blah blah, and blah blah blah blah' because i want my job. Also, i know in the past i have wporked for people who *suc* at thier job, but that i liked. Maybe its the same for some of these writers, maybe on a personal level they like the person. combine that with ya know, wanting to work in this buisness they love, and do you really expect them to blast people?

Look at the type of people she's brought on so far: Lynn Marie Latham, Scott Hamner (who is back giving magazine interviews btw) and now looking at JHC. I hope in the end she comes to her senses, but that is doubtful. Back to Hamner, he was saying in SID how disappointing it is to have such few Abbott's on the show. I guess he thinks we forgot that he was a major part of that. And I'm sorry, but there are more Abbott's and Chancellor's than Ashley and Cane. Traci, Billy, Keemo, Colleen, Billy, Dina, Brock, Mackenzie and many more forgotten characters. If he's disappointed in the lack of Abbott's, why hasn't his sorry ass done more to get them back on the show? Ugh! I'm so frustrated with Y&R. I wish Jess Walton would join B&B as Beth Logan so I can give up this bad habit.

Maybe he is. Maybe he wants to bing them back, but cant because he isnt in control? Idk whats going on with me. Im on this defending streak today. I even am liking ATWT and can tolerate GL... something is wrong with me. Maybe my soap oper aspirt is so damaged i dont care anymore? idk...

But what i wouldnt give for Mac to return home (but no ash bash, please...).

and OMFG! Jess as beth logan? talk about perfection! Tho it woulda been odd to have Victoria as katie, Jill as beth, Megan as bridgett, and Ashley as Ashley. lol.

Where did your photo come from? I've seen a photo of her associated with the Harpur College or Arts and Sciences and that is her in the Emmy Picture.
