Administrator Toups Posted December 9, 2007 Administrator Share Posted December 9, 2007 I think USA would be better - NBC should try a cable channel they own. Don't trust another outlet they don't own again.

Members Y&RWorldTurner
If NBC wanted Passions on one of their other channels, they would've done just that instead of shopping it to DirectTV. They know it probably won't be an equivalent success on a mainstream cable outlet as it would for something as restrictive as DirectTV. NBC wants to have its cake and eat it too. If I were apart of the Passions cast, I'd be looking for employment elsewhere. No need to stay on a show that's canceled and if it is picked up again and there's another chance of cancellation looming over them, it would just kill the little morale that's left. Members Shawn
Passions is the rabid dog of the daytime community. Its about time someone put a bullet in its head and killed it once and for all. Seriously. Give us the final punchline for this absurd joke already. Members Ryan
Lol Shawn, tired much? You know ordinarily I would agree with you. But I began watching Passions the last couple of months it was on NBC and kinda liked it. However, I heard all the "progress" that was made during the final months regressed. I mean come on...Ethan STILL doesn't know he's Little Ethan's father? The pregnant "intersexed" (since hermaphrodite is no longer appropriate according to Oprah, lol) pregnant with his father's child? Reilly sure has lost his [!@#$%^&*] mind. But that works for PSNS fans! Lol.
Members HiJinx
I just checked the Directv website and they're still advertising it to bring in new subscribers. Since I am a customer(not to get this show), I sent them a note and asked. Will let you know what I hear if anything.
Members daysfan
Awwww, this is too bad...as much as Passions irritates me at times, I am still a die-hard fan(okay of the early days, LOL). But also still a die-hard fan, I've gotta say NBC needs to find a place for Passions,if they plan on continuing it, where it will STAY. This toss-around will get irritating if they continue it somewhere else. For me its either cancel it or find a PERMANANT home for it.
Members bellcurve
Maybe this is the reason a lot of the PASSIONS writers decided not to sign that letter of solidarity with the union. I could see them all going fi-core to write the ending they see fit for the show. Reilly and NBC's BEST option is selling their reruns into national syndication to local affiliates. Members Ryan
IMO, having a run on Sci-Fi might be best. If it's something NBC would be firmly behind it, I think it could work. Imagine....a daytime block of supernatural soaps on Sci-Fi! What is PSNS were to be the "anchor" for the lineup, and other soaps are created around it to build a lineup? As someone who's really into soaps, I'd love to be an exec. No matter what network I was on, I'd want a freakin soap. ESPN? Why not have a sports soap like Footballer's Wives? Or the love between a quarterback and his wide receiver..... Discover Channel? The story of a man and his dog. CourtTV? A judge who sleeps with the people she puts in jail. Members Sylph
This crapfest together on the same channel that airs Straczynski's shows and Battlestar?
Members Ryan
Everything on Sci-Fi isn't great. PSNS wouldn't be the worst thing on the network.....
Members daysfan
I REALLY enjoyed it when, a year and a half ago, Sci-Fi ran reruns of Passions from the beginning, but they stopped three months into it. Passions would DEFINATELY fit on Sci-Fi
Members c0rinne
It wouldn't be awesome. It would be like beating a (1=Scifi)dead, (2=NBC)decapitated, and (3=DTV) decomposing horse. 3 strikes and your out I say.
Members Sylph
Sure. But I think Straczynski would never write for the network again. After all, they have a reputation to hold on to. But I agree with you on a supernatural soap opera line-up. And here's another one for you: .
Members Ryan
Reputation? It's about the money. Sci-Fi lost it's credibility with me the moment they brought wrestling to the network. Their "reputation" has been damaged since the summer of 2006 once ECW began airing on Tuesday nights. So hit me with another excuse.....
